I might have to sacrifice this one (cancel) due to the Exclusive LOTR Berzerker... Too cool.
I think a lot of people will regret passing on this exclusive piece once its long sold out. The exclusive looks so much better than the regular version.
Can u explain to me something, yes agreed that Berzerker freaking rocks, why are do these pieces have a estimate shipping date of 1st quarter and flex dates of
May 15, 2009 $106.66
Jun 15, 2009 $106.66
Jul 15, 2009 $106.67
this must be really estimating, huh?
i did the flex and wondered the same thing
I don't need to flame you, you already know that you are below me because I knew all along that you would be making this post. The shame in that is enough and says it all I thinks.
As to thinking his spine is awkward....Im surprised you think so when you own the original IM Comiquette, and that one's spine is clearly ridiculous. Looks like a snake body.
Only 'cause you put a roofie in my wine, fool.
You know, there are more than a few flaws with the original. Overall, though, Sideshow's comiquette is the best representation to be found of the Extremis armor.
But you bring up an interesting point, albeit in an erroneously critical way. It's meant to look like a snake body, insomuch as a snake's skeletal structure provided the inspiration for the flexible construction of the torso. (Most likely, it was some other skeletal structure, say, that of a man, but we're all vertebrates in the end, yeah? )
That's the genius behind Granov's design: The organic qualities of the armor which resemble their corresponding biological equivalents. In the front of the torso, we can see areas which resemble abdominal and pectoral muscles. The helmet itself resembles a skull, for crying out loud!
It's a bit of design genius, really. Much more so than the classic armor, which was designed for artistic simplicity rather than realistically. As much as I've always been a fan of Iron Man, the concept of that molded, muscular armor actually being flexible really stuck in my craw. The Granov armor really drew me back into the book, to be honest.
Still, looking at my display as it stands, I can't wait to see this new version in the mix. I'm sure it will blend better than the current one.

There is no real "genius" in the design, it's been done for ages in the anime mecha world. However I do agree that the Granov is my favorite design, due to the sleekness and angles of the armor.
Maybe so. I dunno. I've only paid the anime world a passing interest, so that kind of thing escaped me.
Still, I stand by the genius comparison. If only to say that the originators who inspired Granov were ingenious in their adopting of natural phsyiology into the functionality of their design. Granov's genious is evident in the way he adapted it to the Iron Man armor in a way that left the character readily recognizable.
Having said that, I'm thinking of selling mine. Only room for so many Iron Men in Castle Monk. I'll wait until my CIM arrives to make the call, though...
