Those of you that stayed to the end of the credits, did you hear the soundbite at the end of the score? the staticy, "it's....still....Alive..." part?

Sorry, missed your first post.

Someone actually posted those earlier in this very thread. No idea where they came from.

No problem, thanks. I must have missed them (I avoided this thread until I had seen the movie for obvious reasons)... but they really help with visualising this bad baby.:D

I agree! Did you pre-order the Hasbro collectible? I know it's $100 US, isn't coming for several months and there aren't any photos yet but I couldn't take the chance of missing out, especially since it's a HasbroToyShop exclusive. It's at least incredible from the description.

I'm pulling back considerably on my purchases...and while I admit that it'll probably be quite cool I've decided to get really picky with what I spend my money on. I'm committed to SW in the 1/6, PF (besides the $$$ biker scout), and the dio line. LOTR in the 1/6 line. James Bond in the 1/6 if that ever gets relaunched (which is highly doubtful). And now the Shaun of the Dead 1/6 line and possible all of the Indy 1/6 line (and if the PF Indy is anywhere near cool I'll probably snag that as well). Sounds like a lot, but honestly, I am pulling back:D.

I've got tons of stuff in storage (SW, LOTR, TRANSFORMERS, GI JOE, etc...) most of it going back to the late 70's and early 80's (well not the LOTR stuff-- that's the [almost] complete line of TOYBIZ)... and I wouldn't really have any room to display additional stuff without putting something away and I like how my office/tv room are set up right now. My wife respects my collecting and she even encourages it (she bought me the Obi vs. Anakin dio for Christmas) but if my collection creeps out of the two rooms in the house that it currently resides in that won't fly:D. I'll vicariously live through others here in the threads as they display the stuff that a couple of years ago I would've snatched up in a heartbeat.

Yea, that was a bit annoying - I haven't heard a good explaination as to why it was in reverse. Anyone?

I knew something happened at the end so I stayed all the way. Then, he says it and I turned to the person with me and said "What the Hell did he say?". Until I got home and looked it up online, I assumed i just didnt' hear it clearly.

after critics confirmed that this flick was shot along the lines of blair witch (which i hated), i decided that i wouldn't even see this movie if it were downloaded for free. i read today that several people in the theaters have demanded their money back because they actually experienced motion sickness from the shaky camera. EASY PASS!

:yuck :yuck :yuck

I can't tell you how much I felt cheated going to see the Blair Witch. I honestly think that was one of the worst movies ever. However, that being said. I loved this movie. It took me about 20 minutes to get used to the camera. After that I was good.

What a bunch of wussies. It's actually not nearly as bad as "Blair Witch" in that way. There are a couple of moments like that, particularly near the beginning... but I didn't find the video nearly as frenetic and disorienting as it was in "Blair Witch". It's also a much, much, MUCH better movie.

1. It's not terrestrial. Indeed that closing shot of something splashing into the ocean in distance was put there on purpose.

2. It's a BABY. :google

Apparently the splash at the end is not the monster but the satellite that was part of the viral marketing of the film. Which makes more sense to me. The monster is said to have been hibernating for thousands of years.

The Japanese oil company TAGRUATO drops a satellite (Chimpanz III) into the ocean as part of viral marketing (shown at the end of the movie when Rob and Beth were on the ferris wheel).TAGRUATO works with SLUSHO (a slush company), as the main ingredient for SLUSHO is found at the satellite dropzone (deep ocean) could be responsible for the mutating tiny monster into the huge one that destroys the city.

Rob apparently was going to be the Vice President of SLUSHO in Japan.

Where did this information come from? It makes no sense. Seems like something a kid would write. Slusho? Ingredients in the satellite? Mutates the monster in 6 hours?

It's from the viral marketing that was going on months before the film release. I didn't really follow it myself.

Slusho is actually from the JJ Abrams series "Alias". I believe Jason (I think) was wearing a Slusho shirt in the movie.

The whole Slusho thing was part of the marketing campaign. Rob's brother wears the shirt in the film (and they were given away at SDCC, as I wore mine to the movie!), and it's been discussed that that is the company Rob is going to work for. The splash in the water is a satellite tied in with that - interviews have confirmed that.

However, interviews have also confirmed that the creature has been underwater for thousands of years, that he's a baby of his species, and that he's most likely alien in origin. They threw out lots of possibilities over time to throw everyone off, but the mutation thing is not been discussed in any interviews. And if you don't believe that it's a possibility in the real world (a monster of that size in the deep ocean), than you either don't know about Bloop or forgot about it :D
