You figure it would be possible for LSU to get bumped to 3rd or lower if your scenario plays out, 316? Would seem extremely lame for Alabama to essentially be rewarded for failing to get to the SEC championship game, but. . .stupider things have happened in the BCS.

Actually, if there's an LSU/Bama rematch for the MNC game, you can expect a change next year. The other conferences will push for a minimum 4 team playoff. I expect some sort of playoff after 2014 when the current system expires.

And how about this for chaos: LSU beats Arkansas, Bama beats Auburn, OK beats OK St, then Georgia beats LSU.

This could still produce an LSU/Bama rematch if they both end up #1/#2 in the final BCS rankings. AND THE SEC CHAMP (Georgia) WOULD NOT GO TO A BCS GAME, lol.:gah::lol
If that were to happen one of those teams would fall to 3 unless you add Stanford and VT loses. I think the voters would do what ever it takes to make sure you have two non conference winners playing for a NC.

I would say they don't go for the 4 team playoff right off the bat, I see the next step is the conference champion requirement. To many ways to still screw the other conferences with 4 team playoff and they know it.

That is what happens when you have two really good defenses playing in the same game with that much pressure. Let's face it, it would be better than the blows out of years past right?

No not at all.

I can see the next BCS rule you MUST win your conference to be in the national championship. If you have two teams who win there conference with 1 loss (Stanford and Oklahoma St) they deserve to be in the NC more then a team who couldnt even make the conference championship let alone win the conference.

This should be a rule to begin with. I think its total crap that you could play for the national title and not even play in the conference title game. I'm also down for them adding a 4-8 team tourney as you know and if it ends up two teams out of the same conference then so be it.

Comedy.

My OU buddies gave me so much ____ over OSU losing and there they choke against Baylor.

They didn't want to hear from me. :lol

It might be 2001 all over again.

I would like to line all the Texas players and coaches up and smack each and every one of them.

NO , the good thing is it might happen this year but it will be the only times it happens.

Want more chaos, if Arkansas wins , then Georgia wins, only 1 team out of Arkansas, LSU and Alabama can go to a BCS game.:lol

Yeah, do you really think LSU/Bama versus Stanford would be a really good game? Heck, I am not even really that sure OSU would be a really good match. Hope they do make it so maybe I could go to bed at halftime. :)

While I'm excited about MU joining the SEC and playing against some of the best teams in college football having to deal with the arrogance of the fans is just not gonna be fun. Arrogance is just something I really loathe.

Alabama had their chance to get to the NC they choked. Why then F anyone would want to be put through that again amazes me. I would rather get dental work with no pain killers.

A team who didn't win their conference has NO business in a NC game that doesn't evolve a playoff with wildcards. Any other team who has the same record and won their conference has much more right to play in NC game then a team who can't win their conference.

Only good thing that could come from it would be the other conferences will get tired of the disrespect they get force rule changes to make sure that never happens again.

Most are from the south so you really can't expect much.

I would not exactly call it arrogance if you keep on winning. Right now it just comes down to coaching. The easiest way to make people hush is to win. It just hasn't happened in the last five years.

Yeah, if you win year after year, then that's just the way it is. Sour grapes to suggest otherwise IMO. As for winning the conference, it depends on who you want to be in the national championship game. In pro sports, it is supposed to be the best team from respective conferences, but if you want it to be the best two teams based on available evidence up to that point, it could easily be two teams from the same conference (or even division). If the BCS wants to establish a playoff system where it is impossible for two SEC teams to play, I'll be all for it, but that's just not the way the stupid system works.

I can agree with you to an extent but you want to try to put the best teams on the field. We really need a playoff system. You have to look who they lost to though and strength of schedule. That stuff does matter.

You would prefer to see a blowout win vs. a close, low-scoring game between two teams that both have a chance to win?

If the low scoring game is actually fun to watch that can be fun. The LSU/Alabama game was anything but fun to watch for those of outside the SEC fan base.

Good to see the Gators win yesterday against the mighty Furman Paladins.

Bowl eligible once again. Outback Bowl or lesser, here we come!:yess:
