FINAL
Illinois.........7
Minnesota...27

YEAH!

It's nice to finish on a high note after another miserable season (3-9, 2-6 Big Ten).

With the exception of the Wisconsin game, the Goofs took steps in the right direction in the second half of the season.

Dare I say we may become bowl eligible next year? :lol:rotfl:lol

How about how many of them will be busts? That to me is the real question. I can think of two guys that play for KC that are junk when they were supposed to be NFL studs. LSU almost always has a D that will knock the crap out of you, but that doesn't always translate to the NFL.

2011: Patrick Peterson, Not a Bust
2009: Tyson Jackson, Bust
2008: Glenn Dorsey, Bust
2007: JaMarcus Russell, Poster Boy for Busts
2007: LaRon Landry, Not a Bust
2007: Dwayne Bowe, Not a Bust
2007: Craig Davis, Is he still playing? Bust
2006: Joseph Addai, Not a Bust
2005: Marcus Spears, Not a Bust
2004: Michael Clayton, Not a Bust

LSU has had 10 players selected in the first round in the last 10 years. I rated 4 as busts and 6 as not busts. Michael Clayton is debatable because when he was healthy he was a good player.

FINAL
#3 Arkansas..17
#1 LSU.........41

Two observations...

1. LSU outscores Hogs 41-3 score after being down 14-0. :google

2. I wonder how many LSU defensive players are going in the 1st round of the NFL draft?

First round next year or the following 2 years? A lot of LSU's starters are freshmen and sophomores.

If Claiborne decides to come out (he's a Junior), he'll probably be a 1st rounder. One of the O-linemen could possibly go late in 1st round. I don't see anyone else going in the 1st next year.

Juniors: Rueben Randle, Russell Shepherd
Sophomores: Eric Reid, Alfred Blue, Tyrann Mathieu, Spencer Ware, Michael Ford, Kevin Minter, Barkevious Mingo, Sam Montgomery
Frosh: Kenny Hilliard, Odell Beckham Jr.,

Yeah, I probably should have said 2 years. During the telecast, the announcers said LSU should field a better team next year. :google

I was mainly looking at that secondary and didn't know they consisted of freshmen and sophomores.

Well, I was speaking mostly of the D players but I disagree with a couple on your list. Not that its worth anything but here's what I would say of these players.

2011: Patrick Peterson, Not a Bust (though its really early in his career and anything can happen)
2009: Tyson Jackson, Bust
2008: Glenn Dorsey, Bust
2007: JaMarcus Russell, Poster Boy for Busts
2007: LaRon Landry, Not a Bust
2007: Dwayne Bowe, Not a Bust (Almost was though Haley had to bust his balls to get his head out of his butt)
2007: Craig Davis, Is he still playing? Bust
2006: Joseph Addai, Not a Bust but injuries have derailed him being a stud
2005: Marcus Spears - Bust 9 sacks in his career and only 127 tackles
2004: Michael Clayton- Bust 1 1k yard receiving season in 8 seasons and hasn't cracked 500 yards either.

I see a lot of bust on that list.....only Addai, Landy and Bowe have good careers

I'm not sure Addai can be rated that highly. His first 2 years were pretty good. His last 3 and this year have been pretty average to bad and injury riddled.

Well that's a given. 50% of 1st round picks are busts anyway.

Yeah, just about 50% rate on 1st round busts. Pretty much the standard.

I wish my Goofs had that problem. :lol

Peterson is safe from the bust list. Today he tied the single season record for punt return TDs and he's a rookie. That should keep him off the list.

But he wasn't drafted to be a kick returner only. Plus one good year on a bad team doesn't take someone off bust list.

I was incorrect on his record. He is the first player to have 4 80+ yard punt returns for TD in a season.

And him being a dangerous return man had a lot to do with him being drafted where he was drafted.

I agree he probably won't be. That being said its far too early to say for sure.
