It was a play that should have been penalized, it's not something that would have garnered a suspension had the refs made the call. It's not like he went all Legerette Blunt on someone.

As I said earlier, the SEC suspended 2 other players for a game each this season for hits that weren't even as obviously head-to-head as that one. But they're not this time. They're being selective with their own standards. So be it. We all know if their next game was against LA Tech he'd be suspended in a heartbeat. But it's the BCS game, so he won't. It is what it is.
 
I agree that he should sit, but I disagree that the SEC should get involved. I think they were right to turn it over to be handled internally. Bowl games are rewards for the players and if NCAA violations haven't been committed it should be a team decision. The SEC season is over so they were right to stay out of it. If Saban is worth a damn he'll step up. If not it'll just confirm what most already think about him.
