Colossus Comiquette

I just went ahead and flexed my order. I didn't need to but after getting Hulk, Spidey, and Thanos in the last 2 months I didn't want my wife having that kind of ammo aimed at me. A few months delay will end up helping out my cause.

I have Nightcrawler on order. Love that piece. I'll probably pick up a Cyclops comiquette when it's released also. I can't imagine displaying those pieces without Colossus.

The ONLY part about this statue I hate is those stupid lines on his face. Since the heads on this piece can be removed, I'll send the metallic head out to a customizer and have the lines filled in and the head repainted. That will make this more like the piece I wished it would be. He is one of my favorite X-MEN characters. I can't see my SSC X-MEN collection missing this piece.

Ugh,

I'm going back and forth on this one. Just when I'm about to cancel, I remind myself that I love the nightcrawler piece, and angel looks to be amazing. I'd put colossus on at about a 5 out of 10, but not sure if it's worth 300 bucks for a piece just to have a complete "group shot" once all the 1/5ths are released.

And only a few days left to decide!!

I really like the costume they choose for Colossus. But like so many others, it's the face that is making it hard to love this piece. I also can see this being a ease find if the rest of the line is a homerun.

I feel the same way. I have nightcrawler and beast on order and the angel pics look really good. If they release a cyclops, which im sure they will, I would be mad if I skipped this. Its tempting to think I can pick him up later if the lines a hit but at 400 es I just dont know.

that's why I'm fine with this 1/5th scale for these guys. Had they been 1/4th, I don't think I'd be interested in all of these guys so far

So, the face does look pretty bad. If you got the exclusive though, you could easily repaint the "human" head the right metallic gray and it would look great IMO.

The thing that keeps me from jumping on this line is the potential variability in the scale. For whatever reason, Sideshow has dubbed the PF line 1/4, while dubbing the commiquette line completely variable...

And to any nay sayers that were going to argue "well they will keep all the commiquette X-men the same scale at 1/5th" I say Hobgoblin! Spider-man, venom, Carnage...all 1/4....Hobgoblin at 1/5th?

No thank you...get through half of the X-men comiquette line and the release a random 1/4 scale and BAM...you're "pretty picture" is ruined.

Undoubtedly he will be.

I think people have a much better shot at an in-scale set of X-men statues if they focus on the PF line.

He would make sense in 1/4 anyway and would look great with the Jim Lee PF line. I just hope he is a sculpt and doesnt come with three heads and arm sets like the surfer. To be honest, I dont see much of iceman in the modern comic reads anyway.

SS has shown a strong lack of desire to complete any team or organization in the same scale.

I dunno what makes you think they are gonna make a PF of the armoured knight??. if people dont buy this colossus, the why would SSC make another, you're only showing them that a colossus statue wont sell well.

Cuz the prototype pics are always 100% accurate and truly indicative of the final product that ships 6-12 months later...

But SSC arent known for changing much after an item goes up for pr-order, maybe a bit of colour here and there but very very rarely anything to do with sculpting.

The best solution would be to show a prototype of what they will release and put it in the production blog asking what need to be different, i'd imagine if they did this with colossus, they would get enough responses regarding his face and change it.

Bowen will do just that. SSC hardly ever takes suggestions from their collectors. That's just the way they do business. In the case of this piece, that's very frustrating!
