Columbia MO swat team kills pets during home raid

This happened a few months ago, but I just read about this on another forum. I can honestly say that I think of my dog as a family member, and that if this ever happened to me I would sue the ____ out of the city....for shooting a Corgi?? I may not be knowledgeable on correct police procedure, but is conducting this type of raid with children present normal?? What would've happened if the kid was playing with one of the dogs that they shot?? Sorry, but regardless of breed anytime someone smashes into a home yelling and screaming, the dog is going to act aggressively.

I only live a couple hours away but I don't remember seeing this on the news. That being said during a raid if this was to happen they will shoot to kill. Depending on the situation of the raid.

Did they really need to send in the SWAT for this knowing there was a 7 y/o kid?? They knocked on the door twice and kicked the door in before giving them a chance to open the door.

Sucks. The cops musta had a warrant for a reason though.

^^^One dog was in a cage, the other one was a Corgi. They "suspected" him of selling drugs, but after the search they found 1 gram of pot. No scales, money, or other supporting evidence.

Why didn't he just shoot the cops as they came through the door? If cops knew they could get shot breaking and entering, maybe they'd think twice.



EDIT: oh, right. He wasn't a criminal worthy of a SWAT team, so he wouldn't do something like that. Maybe cops should, like, have a clue what they're doing before they do it.
