I'm thinking, and this idea will piss off a lot of fans I'm sure, but get their armored figure lineup really going, and have a convention centerpiece display of Vader flanked by armored Imperial troops, that would look so beautiful and really attract convention goers over to the booth.

That would be quite nice. Sounds perfect for SDCC in the future.

I know I am a little late to the party but are people really sh_tting on this figure? I for one think it's great! A very nice choice for a 12" figure with a lot of potential for either customizing or having choices between styles of hat(s) for display purposes. People should just appreciate an imperial figure and just be glad it's from the OT. Seriously what gives?

It's just star wars babies being star wars babies.

:horse:horse:horse

Comments on the incessant SW whining is almost (if not more so) tiresome than the whining itself.

Check out the horror section when you get the chance. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost finally get their SS glory and there are quite a few slash and gash freaks who were *cough cough* whining about the glossiness of their faces-- or the sculpt-- or the price-- or the---:rotfl

Whining isn't reserved for the SW section. There seems to be critics everywhere-- and boy does the world ever need critics.

Contrary to a lot of other disgruntled fans' comments, I'm actually GLAD Vader wasn't the figure that went up during Spooktacular. If SS was foolish enough to play this whole secretive release game garbage with an actually important character, I would absolutely be done with this line. Collecting these highly detailed 1/6 figures is a fun hobby for me. When games start to be played with the release/preorders (every PPO thus far came with at least a week or so advance warning that didn't involve spending an entire week sitting in front of a computer during some HORROR promotion), the fun becomes frustration and is not worth my time or money.

Oh, wait, I just said something negative about SS... AND I'm a Star Wars fan! What ever will I do when the internet flames come my way! GASP!

Actually, all good points... no flaming necessary :lol Vader really is too important of a figure to be released during a small fan-oriented event. I can understand fans frustrations if they were expecting steak and instead got a tasty chicken dish instead.

But what gets me is that somehow a fan's misunderstanding is Sideshow's fault?!?

See, that's the thing: I agree with you guys about the ridiculous insults some fans have thrown at Sideshow due to the lack of Vader.

The choice of character is not my issue.

The "surprise attack" preorder of any new figure to the line is. I was enjoying my first year wedding anniversary with my beautiful wife, completely unaware that a figure was dropped during some horror promotion. The first time I even heard of this figure was when I received the newsletter stating he was SOLD OUT. That is my beef. Yes, I wasn't glued to Sideshow's site for 24 hours a day during their horror promotion (as I am generally not a horror fan). Preordering a new figure during this time with no advance notice is just plain frustrating to someone like me, who has praised SS up and down throughout this whole figure line thus far (except for my rants about the poorly constructed Palps Chair, that is).

I don't appreciate any insinuation that I'm some form of lesser being for being a Star Wars fan who has some complaints about the way SS sometimes handles their business.

Difference was people were talking about the product itself. Here, the SW babies were crying cause they didn't get Vader (AKA Broken Record).

Though Vader going up at Spook and limited to 3000 pieces would have ruled!!

Thank you for proving my point, Josh.

Proving your point??? They said something was coming and the point of Spook is to be in front of your computer. If you didn't know that then I'm sorry. Must have been your first Spook. If anything you proved my point that SW fans have to have things THEIR way or the highway. It doesn't work like that.

Likewise.
I wasn't being a smart ass. I was being serious. :) There is a difference.

But what gets me is that somehow a fan's misunderstanding is Sideshow's fault?!?

Cause SW fans have to have it their way or they get all pissy.

The "surprise attack" preorder of any new figure to the line is.

It wasn't a surprise attack. They hinted something was coming. It was heavily talked about that it would be a SW figure. I understand you had a serious thing you needed and should be out celebrating, but that's not SS fault you missed it. I know you where paying attention here so you should have set it up with someone to get you something SW if it came up. I did cause I knew I would be at work when most of Spook was going on.

I don't appreciate any insinuation that I'm some form of lesser being for being a Star Wars fan who has some complaints about the way SS sometimes handles their business.

Its not that you're unhappy with SS but that you expect them to give billboard hints with every figure and that its THEIR fault you missed it. Thats all.

No one should be worried about missing out on the figure at this point... get on the waitlist. This figure didn't sell out in record time (although not bad for the type of announcement) and even those figures that sell out in 30 minutes, always have waitlist conversions later on.

I got on the waitlist for Plo Exc like 2 months before he was supposed to ship... guess what, I got a conversion. That's one of the great things about SS, the pre-order and waitlist system are pretty much set up so anybody that wants one, can get a figure.

Yeah, the WL works! I missed the Jedi Luke Ex way back when. Got on the WL and it converted down road and that was quite a popular figure. These figures tend to come back up on second chance because of CC issues with folks. More than likely you'll get one. No need to worry and when they do guys like Vader they'll announce it for weeks and he'll be Inclusive.

Well I'm a little late the game too,but if you guys aren't pissed, and I sure as hell was, that SS hasn't released all these figure's you see in the picture above and Medicom has, then It must take a whole lot to get you riled up.:lol I got sick of waiting for SS to release the figure's I wanted and realized that Medicom was knockin em out the box,one after another.I think that most of SS's product that they produce themselves is crap when compared to the overseas companies like HT and Medicom, and stop me if I'm wrong but SS's 12" line and there PF line(which is there signature line)and maybe 1 or 2 others are the only products they produce themselves, the rest is either a joint collaberation(and I'd question how much SS is truly involved in this so called collaberation)or completely contracted out to another company, like ADI,Spectral Motion and so on.

SS's 12" line isn't just plaqued with no who gives a sh%# figure's,but it's also there quality.Every U.S. company here in the states makes cheap sh%# and SS is no exception.

All SS has to do is come out with some good quality figure's that people actually want and there would be no complaints.I mean just look at the other lines like the Transformers masterpiece line. What was the first character they made?Optimus Fu%#ing Prime that's who!!!They did'nt make blur or wheelie, or some who gives a sh%# character, they made the main man and did a damn good job making him too, that's how it should be for SS's 12" line.Give the fans some good quality characters they truly want.

But hey,I really don't have a whole lot to complain about because SS gives me what I want.I mean were the hell would I be if SS wasn't distributing my Medicom and HT figures?Paying up the ass on eBay to some ******* in Asia that's were.:lol

He's coming and that should be enough for you or any of us....

Yes but he's "been coming" for a long time now. I guess I'm just getting impatient.

it will kick some major ass.

Love the optimism.

Get the ones you want. Skip the ones you don't.

That's my main complaint, there has been so much "meh" stuff coming from SS that I'm passing on a hell of a lot of stuff. The only things I have on pre-order are ANH Obi-Wan and the Palps set. I have more Medicom pre-orders than that, and their products are far less frequent.

I don't know how some of you enjoy collecting with the attitude you approach collecting with. :confused

I love the way you judge the collecting habits of others. No offence dude but there are very few people who are as fanatical about SS as you, I'd say its you that is in the minority.

I've always been an optimistic person.

"Meh" 4 you. I see a lot of people who are buying and are happy with the things coming.

I'm just giving my 2 cents on how I'm taking things. If people feel I'm judging them then so be it. I'm again just stating what I see. I am a fan of SS and their products so yeah I'm fanatical about SS. However, I don't think I'm in the minority of collectors that try at least to have fun with their collecting. Though, I probably am among SW fans that I will give you.

Sad thing is, in the same ammount of time, this is all Medi's done, though Luke's not in this shot and regular Stormtrooper, also ROTJ Vader.

And look what Sideshow's done in 2 years.
