You see,I think this is were me and some of you guys are majorly different.I got out of collecting 3 3/4" figures 7 years ago and I also got out of the 12" hasbro line around the same time, because that stuff just seemed to kiddy or cheap to me.I then got more into the statues and bust's,and Transformers reissue's and Binaltech were the only real toys I collected.I just returned to the 12" line with SS's stuff but then realized that Medicom was doing a better job.So as you can see I'm more into realism then anything else.I'm now selling off most of my sideshow PF's except Greivous and I'm now getting into the Maquette's because the PFs just don't seem realistic enough for me anymore.I think personally that Medcom's figure's except for Luke look more realistic then SS's PF line.

Well that's all fine and dandy but don't assume I don't appreciate realistic and high quality pieces. I have statues, busts, and the works, and one thing I love about SSC humans over Medicom's is the realism, they have the most toyish human portraits of any high end 1/6 maker. Just because I still collect Hasbro figures doesn't mean I don't appreciate high end pieces as well, so don't assume you know me or how I look at collectibles.

I know how ya feel. I've collected statues, busts, pf, maquettes, the little hasbro figus, and 1:6th. I think SS has done a great job on all areas making their products look realisitic. Thats one of the reasons I like their stuff so much. That all being said I like the Hasbro Concept figures because they look cool but like you said it doesn't mean you can't appreciate high end stuff too.

I highly disagree,but hey that's just me.:D

I'm shocked.:lol

Ya know Chavez. You've made it clear you don't like SS SW 1:6th figures. So why post in threads about them? Other than to stir the pot on purpose which I've seen you and a couple other Mediworld folks say you do.

Still toys :lol

Ill make a plea, and restate something Dave said previously:

NO MEDI VS SIDESHOW HERE EVER EVER EVER AGAIN PLEASE!

It'll never happen. The moment one "side" praises their product and/or condemns the other, the usual suspects will undoubtedly surface to renew the fight once again.

Speaking of helmets Does anyone remember what SS did to the Boba Fett PF helmet.:D.

Yes, it was wrong, and SSC isn't without faults, they also did very well with Boushh's helmet. All I'm saying is that Medicom is a nice figure maker that can make great stuff but they are not a god amongst men.

what does that have to do with Commander Praji?

i can't remember the last time you brought something positive to a discussion.

First off,I don't really post a lot over at Mediworld because believe it or not, there's hardly anyone over there.:lol Secondly I'm just expressing my self and if you cant handle it you don't have to respond.Thirdly 12" figure's aren't the only thing SS has to offer.:D

Because Commander Praji is another case and point that Medicom is doing better with Star Wars apparently, they are The Master Race after all, but I'd think such Nazi idealism would enjoy a figure that looks like one of their soldiers.

P.S. Apologies to anyone who may have connections to the real events with the Nazis and al.

with helmets, yes they do nice helmets but their humans look like toys, and that's what I said.

Medicom Luke was an awful figure, but can you really call these toys???

I'd say these look more like toys.

You have the right to express yourself. I didn't say you couldn't or that you didn't for that matter. What I said was you've made it clear you don't like Praji or any of the other SS 1:6th figures. So why keep telling everyone over and over you don't. We know you don't so there's no need to keep telling us why you find SS SW figs to be cheap or whatever. I can handle you saying it as honestly I just laugh that you keep feeling the need to remind us all the time. You're correct 1:6th aren't the only thing SS has to offer but that wasn't the point I was making. I was talking solely about SS 1:6th figures.

I won't judge figures that aren't out in hands yet. Medicom Jack Sparrow looked more promising then his portrait is in hand so.

And considering this was put for sale after Jango, I still say wait for in hand. I'll never use Yavin Luke to point out SSC quality because it wasn't up to their par in my mind, but Han is much better in hand than that picture, and since you have them in hand, you know Obi and Vader are better than those pictures too.

It has become clear to me that both extreme sides in these debates are suffering from myopia. People have latched on to a single side (SSC Bashing/SSC Defending) and are rarely allowing any wiggle-room for true discourse. That is why these threads ALWAYS wind up the same way.

And if people really want the usual SSC bashers to stop sounding like broken records, lead by example and quit retorting in kind.

Folks are :horse all over the place here.

Unless you all actually enjoy engaging in these same discussions over and over again. If that's the case, then it's all good I guess. :monkey5

I'm not trying to be an extremist, I've said before that Medicom, Sideshow and Hot Toys all have flaws and that no one can turn out perfect product. I think others feel the same, but it's frustrating to come around here to have a fun discussion and have people speak with an elitist mindset for any company, everyone makes great stuff and there's good things to enjoy about all manufacturers and that's what I'm looking for, to just have fun with my fellow collectors enjoying what is out there, with critical analysis of products and in depth conversation.

But see, I don't think people (well, most people) come into these discussions with "an elitist mindset" at all. At the end of the day, this is just people talking about toys and using their own (very differing) opinions. And as long as no one crosses the line with ad hominen attacks, everyone should be entitled to their opinion, no matter what it is.

If it's the "broken record" thing that bothers you then be aware that it is occurring on BOTH sides.

Not to be trite, but there is no "right" or "wrong" in these debates. Because we're usually discussing opinions, suppositions and impressions and not fact. It's all subjective.

Just a thought, perhaps a thread SPECIFICLY for medi vs HT vs SS vs whatever should be made, and all such comments be restricted to there?
