As much as I want a PF Witch King right now...

I really feel Gimli should follow Legolas. If they both come out looking good I think it would be good for the line.

SS has proven they can do a kickass job with the villains already but the heroes are a bit lackluster I think. A ferocious kill countin dwarf with a big axe would make me happy. No comic relief BS please.

I really do feel for you 12 inchers but I dont realistically expect to see a full PF Fellowship for myself either.

I sent SS an email asking if they can put up a poll asking something to the effect ... who wants an entire PF Fellowship? The response I got was that my message is being forwarded to the powers at be.

I for one want the ENTIRE fellowship in PF.

With as many different scales and attempts at creating figures for Lord of the Rings, this would be one of the biggest ^^^^ ups ever. Sideshow blew it with the Weta line, ^^^^ the bed with the 1:6 scale line, and to now cast doubts on the PF line pisses me off.:banghead

I've never sworn in a post, but damn it!

^^^^ you still haven't. :lol

SS can't be to blame solely for the Weta line, though.

Yeah, good luck with that. Didn't work for 1:6, and believe you me, those of us who wanted it tried just about everything. It won't work for PFs, and you'll be damn lucky if you see it in Dios. :lol

I posted the question to SS as I was concerned with how the 12" line had gone and the slow rate of the key characters in the PF range, namely only 3 of the 9 Fellowship made to date (not including GTW).

Whilst the answer given by SS does not say anything for definate, it does look like the PF range will go the same way as the 12" line as far as the complete Fellowship goes. If that is the case then SS is not so 'in tune' with the collecting community as it likes to believe or have people believe. The Fellowship is the core of the LOTR and to not complete it is more than unfair to the collector. There is a market for the 9, be it in 12", dio or PF which could be fulfilled via limited edition runs if necessary.
If SS don't or never intended to complete the Fellowship, they should have the balls to say it instead of starting a line knowing the EXPECTATION for a Fellowship is there and then avoiding giving an honest, straight answer to the simple question of 'Will we get the rest?' instead of stonewalling behind 'Maybe' answers.

I know at the end of the day SS are a business so they will manipulate the market whichever way suits them best and they do provide the collecting community with some of the best collectables out there. But the 9 should be made in all formats, even if that means editions of 250-300.

SS: Go for a poll option as previously suggested.

I use to buy most all of SS products... but since they've screwed me with the LOTR 12" line... I no longer buy into the hype. I have Dropped the LOTR line (all of them) and will probably sell off my stuff.

..and I'm not the only one.

If SS does not complete the fellowship in PF you will have every right to put the blame squarely on them, just as you have every right to blame them for the 12" figure mess. But if you're looking to blame anyone for the SSW line, you're blaming the wrong company.

True, Weta should shoulder some of the blame. They're the ones who didn't sculpt all the characters we wanted! Even though they had drawn up those big long lists of just about everyone and everything that appeared in FOTR! :D I believe we got pretty much everything they done, except that complete Argonath and Hobbiton factory environments, and whatever those shields were for.

One day maybe someone will pull out the Fellowship Pippin and we'll see what the original sculpt actually looked like. Assuming all that hasn't already been destroyed.

I was hoping someone from Weta would come out with all that kind of info seeing as the line had ended, and reveal all their secrets! But no. Maybe when they do Hobbit stuff they can do a couple more LOTR pieces :) Or we could just carry on buying the brilliant custom pieces.
Didn't Weta think the fellowship pippin sculpt they did was bad? And that's why they didn't release it? That's what i heard at the time.

The Fellowship is complete in the WETA bust line, isn't it? Most of them are not the greatest, but I guess it's the closest collectors are going to get.

I know at one time there were a few pic's of the "fellowship" Pippin floating around. I've never seen them though I know some other Freaks have. I'd love to see pic's of that myself. I'd also love to know what Richard Taylor was smoking the day he scrapped the fellowship Pippin sculpt in favour of "poopin" Pippin....

Fellowship is completed in the SSW statue line as well. Again, Pip didn't get the same treatment/pose/attire as the others, but he's there...scared spitless in his Gondorian armor.

Doesn't count. They only count if they appear as they were in FotR.

(at least not to me)

So your saying that a fellowship member is only a member based on what clothes they were wearing.
In which case I assume they must be dressed that same as they looked when leaving Rivendell after having just joined together.

So does that mean that once they leave Lothlorin (and are now dressed in extra Elven stuff), they are no longer members of the fellowship.

IF so, then what you want is not all 9 members of the 'fellowship' in statue/PF form. What you want is all 9 characters, that were part of the fellowship, as they appeared between Rivendell and Moria, in statue/PF form.

So from just a SSW point of view, does the Merry statue qualify even, since he wasn't part of the fellowship at that point in time.

:lecture (Malice is SUCH a trend setter!)

Aragorn is wearing the Lorien cloak, i can't remember if Boromir is, i think Gimli is, but the others are not. But i can see the argument - at least these characters are in their 'normal' clothes, or maybe a better way of putting it is that they are wearing stuff that they wore when they were all together as one group - ie in FOTR. But still, Pip is a Fellowship statue to me :)
