Is this a PF thread? In fact (if my memory is correct), I have only posted in about 2 or 3 PF threads. One was the Wolverine PF(don't care for it/don't hate it) and Gambit (LOVE IT/great looking piece).

Almost all of my posts are in comiquette threads.:wave:lecture

Yes....this is a GREAT conversion by a very talented man.

Hmm seem to remember more postings of yours--maybe the lack of comments in other threads were made up for in the Wolverine PF thread, but in all fairness you only seemed to be defending your point in many of the posts, even if it was only the same trite PFs=PJs slight that one reads so often.

Anyways back to the PF conversion. Computerfly, what paints, supplies did you use? Can we get a pick of your workspace?

I think that many more Cap PF owners may go this route overtime, even those who love the PF dynamic. I have owned two Caps over the years (down to one now) and the vulnerability of the white fabric to stains worries me. Now overtime fewer and fewer Caps will be in mint condition, probably due to stains/fades, causing PF owners to consider the conversion option.

Spiderman still takes the cake, but this one looks great too. If you can pull off the Wolvie or Sabes pf, that would be crazy

I think the legs look a little too skinny and that this is one of the inherent problems of converting PFs to comiquettes. The PFs are designed to fit clothes over them to be able to look the appropriate proportions.

That being said, it took a tremendous amount of skill to do what you did, CF. I just think some PFs are going to be more amenable to conversion than others.

Yeah, those are the 2 I'm dying to see. I really am wondering what they look like under the cloth costumes and fully sculpted. Thor is also a PF I'm looking forward to see. I'm not crazy about the position of his head in that sculpt but it was very well done. If nothing else, Steve doing these PF to comiquette conversions lets us see these pieces in a whole new light.

No worries! There are actually more people on this particular board, I would venture, that prefer 'cloth'. I'm not here trying to convert anyone, I'm just showing what can be done with what's been given to us. My only opinion regarding this is that it can be a shame to hide all the work underneath, with what ends up looking like, to me, a decent cosplayer outfit. The material never matches what these guys wear in comics. Cap wouldn't be wearing a t-shirt outfit, and that is exactly what the material he's in looks like. Those who love the look, more power to you. I don't care for it, and there are plenty of folks who agree as well. We all like what we like, and no amount of debate is really going to change anyone's opinion.

Comp, whether a person is into mixed media or straight poly sculpt, shouldn't, IMO, be the real discussion here. What I am seeing here is an artist with great talent giving a different perspective, a different take, on a classic sculpt.

Love what you have done, and it has made me rethink the mixed media collection (although I will stick with the PF).

I am with Quadcent and a few others on this ... I would simply like both!

Sorry to drudge up this old thread, but I did want to show you guys what eventually happened with the Cap. I took the advice given and fattened up the belt, which then shrunk the torso area a bit, and I also changed the belt buckle. This was the final look. Thanks for the support, and hopefully I'll have something fun to show you guys soon.

Damn...when I see this I think of what could have been. This just looks SICK! Very well done! I can only hope the eventual Cap comiquette SSC releases looks half as good as this. The biggest problem is that it will be 1/5 scale. Your conversion Cap is the piece I would have jumped on if SSC would have released it.

This is exactly what Cap in 1/4 scale SHOULD have looked like. ____ the PF line.

As an experiment... I would love to see Sideshow release the same 1/4 scale statue in both the PF and comiquette format and see what happens.

Nice job CF. The colors turned out really nice. Though the leg part with the seam, could u have sanded it down to get rid of the seam? Maybe u can use the puddy clay to fill it the empty spots,
