During the first (annual...?) Geeksgiving event, Sideshow gave out 14 codes for a total of $25, with two codes released each day. All of the codes (allegedly) had a 15 minute duration, and they all were released at the top, bottom, or quarters of the hour, which made them all a bit more predictable and easier to obtain.

I was able to snag all but three of the codes, for a total of $18. Definitely not too bad at all, since we didn't know about this event (or its potential for RP codes) until just a couple of days before it started! Last year they gave out $19 (via just three codes) the week of Black Friday (including the $10 NERDIST code that @nerdist Tweeted out on Black Friday evening) and they didn't give us another code until Wednesday, December 20th.

Thanks a lot to everyone who shared the codes here and in the No-Banter Thread!

Thanks for the breakdown cbulas.

How does the total of 2018's Spooktacular + Geeksgiving compare to 2017's Spooktacular?

Just wondering if it's close because I think there was talk about Spooktacular's total being less than last year.

SS gave out $25 during Geeksgiving 2018 and $49 during Spook 2018, so $74 total. They gave out $65 during Spook 2017, so the totals for Geeksgiving '18 plus Spook '18 was indeed more than Spook '17. However, as I said in my last post, they gave out $19 during Black Friday week 2017, putting the total for October-November '17 higher than the total for October-November '18 (assuming, of course, that they don't give us any other codes in the next 2-1/2 days!).

I probably got about $50 or so without losing any sleep. Not bad - free stuff is always nice.

I clicked on the December deals from the Saturday morning newsletter email and this screen popped up. Maybe there'll be some codes throughout December?

12 days of Sideshow usually does, doesn't it? But I think they only gave out something like 3 last year....if I remember correctly.

I can't find the exact post right now, but in the facebook group Buffy said that she may drop a few rewards codes here and there throughout December, but there would be nothing structured or tied to any holiday or event.

Last year, SS gave out that $10 NERDIST code on Black Friday, and they didn't give us another code (MERRYXMAS17- worth $3) until Wednesday, December 20th. The next code they gave us after that (HAPNEWYEA- worth $3) was Wednesday, January 3.

Ticks me off when SSC offers free shipping like they could only do it on the peg warmer figures. They should offer free shipping on pre-orders for like the first week they come out, that would at least entice enough people to drop NRDs with them and keep their orders as opposed to going elsewhere.

They did this with Jack Burton and a few other figures.

They don't need to entice people to preorder lol. People who preorder are willing to accept everything as is at full cost. Incentives comes only later when Sideshow needs to clear inventory.

fair enough, just thinking out loud, I'm already sick of buying from them anyway

I feel the pain as well. The free shipping for figures I pre-ordered and did not have a $20 code for is really pissing me off. I have the money and I really want Wonder Woman but I am passing. I really am done.

couldn't agree more :clap especially considering how much they charge for shipping. I get free shipping from Alter Ego on a lot of items and the $4 shipping from BBTS

Basically they should run their business the way you think they should.

I never worry about things i bought at full price getting a discount later. The milk i bought yesyerday might be on sale tomorrow. TVs, Phones, Jackets, Cars, books, etc, etc will usually go on sale for cheaper than what the price you paid at some point.
