I just tried to use HA11OW33N and it deducted the 30% but when I hit the proceed to check out the next screen added shipping in on a n item with free shipping.

Anyone else have this problem?

Try entering it again before you finalize check out I believe that happened with a few of them that you needed to enter them twice.

No mater what I do it still adds in shipping on the screen to hit the "process this order" button.

I guess I'll call them on Monday, I hope they honor the code since it expires on November 3rd.

Yeah, neither of those solutions are ideal, which is why I suggested the most simple of options which is moving this thread to the Sandbox forum. All members, premium and non-premium can access that forum, but non-members (guests, google search, etc.) cannot.

The other solution, a little more secure still, would be a private thread where the thread starter would have control over who is allowed to see the contents of the thread. That's not a feature supported by the regular board software that I know of and would require a plugin or patch of some kind. That's work that Dave would have to do, so I'm not expecting him to take time implementing it.

At the end of the day the only problem was people calling Sideshow's phone line about codes. I can absolutely see that as problem and as a business owner myself I would find it tedious to deal with if it got out of hand. However, I believe something like this would happen or could happen even with strictly legitimate codes, after all, most of them expired after 10 minutes. My other concern with regards to search and guest access to this thread is that Sideshow may continue to receive calls about codes when someone finds them posted months from now. "Hey Sideshow, I just found a few codes on a forum and I can't figure out where to type them - or they're not saving to my wallet - what's going on?"

There's only so much one can do to idiot-proof a public space. I think moving the thread into the Sandbox forum is the easiest and least impactful alternative.

I've echoed my sentiment on these promotions many times before including the reward points system and giveaways. I believe they are a huge boost to Sideshow's sales both during the promotional period and well into the future. A few dollars of discount here and there will make the difference between someone buying or skipping a release. I also feel that this thread, in particular, drives a significant amount of traffic to Sideshow's site and social feeds, plus drives a significant amount of sales to their store.

Spiderrogue has a Joe and Star Wars sub board on this site, you don't have to be premium to use them, but you do have to get an invite. Would definitely be a way to keep the random people googling for codes and getting confused as well as the members here who tried to poison the fun.

Once again, good work this year, it was not only fun, but entertaining and engaging waiting bbetween codes. Made the time MUCH more bearable.

As someone who has spent his entire working life doing customer service... You people disgust me.

lmao, jk. Most of the time, complaints are made because people don't understand, saw something and misread it, or didn't see the asterisk. While the whole "I'm going to take my ball and go home now" stance is really offputting, I don't see how people got so confused about fake codes.

This is my first Spook, obviously, and while it was a little overbearing (I think I got a collective 15 hours of sleep throughout the week... I think I passed out most of today to catch up on rest), twas nothing a little logic and humor couldn't solve.

If Sideshow does away with the codes, they'lol do something else. This is their version of a tent sale.

Do I appreciate getting the Hulk pack and Bludd Ex cheaper than the Hulk pack would have been alone? Sure, but chances are if/ when I got them, it wouldn't have been directly from SSC anyway.

But, this is also BENEFICIAL to them. Great deals LAST YEAR on Angela I'm sure, then a couple weeks later they shipped all the rest out for free. A large number of discount items were freebie fodder. Luckily for me, there were some items I needed, but the majority, I wouldn't be buying if the code got to 50%, SSC knows they were preying on people's love of the word discount, they're a business.

Assuming you haven't paid anything towards it, just cancel it and redo it.

But if you used a code or other RP on it, its lost.

Hmmm, just a thought but maybe people weren't pissed off because of non-working fake codes at all, but rather because the real codes seemed to use conflicting shorthand. In one code a "1" is an "i" and in another it's an "L" - that's super confusing. Very easy to make mistakes - most people do not know about the existence of cut and paste - if you've never done IT support, take my word for it.

I should have combined the Ed 209 HA11OW33N code with the robocop bundle. Would have come out to about $450 for both figures after points

Safari on iOS 8.1 (iphone 6) wouldn't let me paste anything on the SSC spooktacular page code section. I had to type it all.

Very interesting theory there. Many must have done the same, but instead of numbers letters...,

So those who ordered the Kier print (or either print for that matter) w/o the frame w/intent saving $ (me inc), prob should've just ordered the framed option.
Just left Michael's and to get very close to what SS was offering may be mute, even after a Michael's sale and SS shipping costs. It "looks" like SS spared little expense picking the double mat and frame, nice job. Although you will get UV glass from Michael's in the bundle package.

So it comes down to worrying about SS shipping care or taking the time and lugging the print to get framed yourself. Unless you go cheap on the framing there isn't much of a savings for the hassle.

My bright side is I dont have to spend the extra $120 now because Im not going to hang the pic until the PF arrives.

Check Costco for framing if you have one in your area. Membership required of course.
