That behavior is highly unacceptable. I can understand and appreciate the confusion/frustration but to behave in that manner is repulsive.Yes, people called in about real codes from time to time not working but in a situation of a real code someone has a problem with it's easy and quick to assist folks with a real code. People calling in about fake codes (which there were MANY calls and chats that occurred) takes longer as the person inquiring about it doesn't always believe the CS reps (9 times out if 10) when they inform them about it being fake and so they will keep them on the line for an extended amount of time because they aren't getting the answer they want. In some instances yesterday some of our CS reps had to endure being yelled and cursed at over fake codes. One could say that's part of the territory in that sort of position within a company but it makes me sad and frustrated when a human being has to endure bad treatment that they are undeserving of.
But again, the fake codes were not started or even continued as something malicious (at least that's my perspective). Just unexpected side effects occurred.

The blame is 50/50. The fake code thing wasn't malicious but people were asked to stop and didn't. This is a debate that could go on and on but it isn't worth it.
I think this thread should just be nuked and rules put into place over the entire debacle with penalties.
How did I scalp?
You're a goof.
My statement is factual.
Its noble and mature for the ones apologizing, but in reading this, I'm disgusted by the actions and self entitlement of these callers. The wrong people are apologizing here.
Hey guys. It looks like most of the Spooktacular codes are still active. If I place and order and use a code, do you think Sideshow will still honor the sale? Just curious. Thinking about picking up HT Zod.
Apart from maybe the dentist guy, I don't think folks were harassing CS because they were entitled. Just a bit clueless as to the jokes and unable to pick up on the very clear context surrounding the joke posts--you would see multiple posts in succession when a code was legit about the fact that they were up, that they used them, etc. I think this is unfortunately if it affects SSC's future behavior, but eh, what are you gonna do? People were here trying to have some fun, due in large part to the fact that SSC took away a good chunk of the fun from the past it its transition to Twitter/Facebook contests, no chat, very little interaction with the board, etc. If that led to unintended consequences then oh, well. I think it would be ridiculous to threaten to sanction people for posting jokes about the codes or whatever. Its noble and mature for the ones apologizing, but in reading this, I'm disgusted by the actions and self entitlement of these callers. Yes, heaven forbid in a forum where people get together in a thread initially intended to help others get codes entered in a timely fashion that some who didn't wade through 100's of pages of posts may have been fooled by a fake code and made a call to find out why. There are many different types of people out there, not all of them have the same amount of common sense or are so naïve they believe everything they read . The ones that need to apologize were the ones posting fake codes in the first place. I for one hope they do not have any codes next time. Its not fair to their customer service representatives. Being that I have worked in customer service my whole life I would not want to go through another round of angry customers calling in because another person lied to them about a discount we were offering. Someone always has to spoil a good thing. The joke was meant for people to type in the wrong code and congratulations they did. I hope they had a good laugh because the funniest part is you probably lost money in the long run because SS will probably decide it gives them the perfect reason to stop issuing the codes. Happy Halloween. This comes from someone who never entered a wrong code. Expired codes yes, wrong codes no.
This makes no sense. There is no justification for the way people behave towards Sideshow's customer servics reps, you can't go blame it on the people posting fake codes. People are responsible for their own actions and how they behave towards others. If you are going to act like a childish entitled fool towards some customer service rep over a $5 code than you are a tool plain and simple. Further more if your not bothering to actually participate in the thread, other than snagging codes, than you probably deserved to get tricked by a fake code or two. It's a shame that it disrupted Sideshow, and I'm sure the people who were responsible are sorry for the inconvenience they caused and will refrain from such pranks in the future. But the true villains are the self absorbed DB's who were to lazy to participate in the fun, other than preying on others generosity, and then treating SS reps like crap over a $5 code. Seriously let that sink in for a moment, a freaking $5 code.

... those who treated SS CS with disrespect are the ones who [more-so] need to apologize
