Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings

It's Lincoln's birthday today. :dunno

They're open today. I just got a full refund for an item that's been pushed for the 3rd time. Is it weird that they wanted my full credit card number for the refund? They said since it's been over 6 months since my purchase they can no longer auto refund

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings

Yup, that's standard practice.
I got a refund but because I payed the NRD over a year ago they had to process that separately.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings

Does anyone here still enter any of the Sideshow facebook or Twitter contests. Just wondering because I dont see too many entrants anymore.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings

I enter contests all the time--not that I have anything to show for it. Someday though...someday.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings

Does anyone know how do I find out who wins the contests on sideshow? I've been entering them since last year and I never know who wins and its never listed anywhere.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings

Any new code for this month yet?

I won a HT Thor about a month ago on Facebook. I did see a list of recent winners on the contest page on their website.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings

Hi guys, does anyone have experience doing a paypal preorder on sideshow collectibles? I see the paypal button for preorder items on sideshow collectibles. IE, I see a paypal button for the HT AOU Cap, priced at $225.

Will they charge me shipping now?
Or will they charge me shipping one month before the items arrive?

Also, the paypal buyer protection is now six months, but the item is more than six months out. Since sideshow is an established company, I don't have any fears about them taking the money and running after six months like some ebay scammer, but I do have fears that they will screw up and six months from now forget that I paid by paypal. And they only recently started offering the paypal option on their website, a little over a year I believe.

And probably someone is going to ask me why I am preordering with paypal. Basically its a sort of "control mechanism" I have for myself. Right now I have $250 bucks in my paypal account. I want to pay for my cap now, because after six months I might spend the $250 on something stupid, or even another HT item that I will regret buying.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings

Full amount charged now. They don't do manual PayPal at all and PayPal doesn't support pre-authorized funds capture beyond a month.

Back onto the coupon/discount talk...

With a bunch of new figures coming out in the next couple of months, some of which people are already vocally complaining about, Sideshow might want to consider issuing two or three discount codes per month between now and June.

Man I wish. With this dock mess and orders coming all at once some discount code love would be appreciated!

This is a good question, and I can honestly say I've never noticed it asked here before. Congratulations, that's actually something quite tricky to accomplish in this thread. ;)

With that, I'm guessing that if you get the full Amazon check-out experience, then you should be able to use whatever balances you have available to you at Amazon, including credit and giftcard. YMMV.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings

That IS a good question and I'm not sure if it is possible.

I "kind of" tried it, but it looks like checking out with Amazon only means that you don't have to put in your CC info and just use the CC info tied to your Amazon account.

Granted I didn't take it all the way, so I don't know if there is a point later on where you can choose what kind of payment you want to use (CC or GC).

I'd love to know for sure if it's possible!

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings

I'll give it a try when the new code is released.

Short answer here...You cannot. Amazon checkout will only allow one to use the credit card they have on file with Amazon. Using an Amazon gift card is not possible. I believe this is due to the fact that the item your purchasing is coming from a second party site (and not directly on the Amazon site). Amazon gift cards are set up (with their own Amazon T&C) to be used on their official channels, so I can see it being incredibly tricky to allow their gift cards to be used on non-Amazon official channels (since those second party sites could reside anywhere in the world and would have their own rules in regards to gift card usage/T&C). Amazon checkout is just another option to make paying a little easier (don't have a card on file with Sideshow or a paypal account but do have an established Amazon account? Then the option to checkout without having to set up a payment method is there).

During normal checkout, Amazon also has the option to pay for your order using American Express Miles Rewards if you have an eligible AmEx card on file with your account. Any idea if I can use this as a payment option when buying through from Sideshow?

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings

Short answer here...

Speaking of super-short answers, mind taking a second and PM'ing me the new monthly coupon code? I'm waiting for it to re-order R2 and it would be great to do that within the next couple of days. ;) Win-win for Sideshow and me I say.

I promise I won't say anything to anyone else here in the thread about it.

I don't believe so either since those are rewards that are more than likely tied into entities that have agreements where those rewards can be spent. Since Sideshow isn't directly tied into America Express Miles Rewards I don't believe they can be used but you can always give it a try and see during the checkout process. If they option is available to a purchaser when checking out using Amazon checkout through the Sideshow site, then use away.
