Oh and I think the sculpt is passable Chibischmoo... sure its not perfect, but I think with paint and on the body he'd be recognizable.

Surly with all the customizers out there, there must be one who has an interest in making a Merry and Pippin!?!?

A quick search of this board will reveal about 6 threads where this topic has been brought up. To date, while there is a small amount of interest on the collector level, there seems to be little to none from the professional level. And with the recent "trend" of customizer bashing that's been plaguing this forum unattended like a bad case of Herpes Simplex 2, frankly, I don't blame them.

oookay...

Sorry, to put you out.

When Sideshow announced that they were canceling the 1:6 line, I was devastated. I helped as much as I could with getting custom Gimlis to fill that hole and was one of the people who helped with Bilbo to fill that gap too. Trust me. I want Merry and Pippin equally, if not moreso, than you. As a matter of fact, do a search for custom Merry and Pippin and see who started the very first thread requesting getting them done. ;)

I hear you.

And I get it... I should have searched before asking.

Sometimes it's just easier to ask a question of those who are discussing a topic rather than running around asking someone else who already discussed it. :peace

Sorry if you thought that. That wasn't my point. My point is as sad as it seems, at this point, it's just...well...beating a:

Every year around Christmas, I watch the Extended versions of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. So of course, my interest in LOTR is renewed. I puchased a Legolas and a Gimli recently, and was going to pick up a Merry and Pippen and was shocked to read the Sideshow never made them, no one has made them, even customizers.

Maybe with the Hobbit movie coming out, some more people will have a renewed interest in LOTR and we might see some Merry and Pippen customs.

Should we start a list for a group commission and then find an artist?

If I commissioned two LOTR heads out of my own pocket in their entirety, I would choose Eowyn and Arwen.

Haha, I misread the title and thought it said "Custom 1/6 Mary Poppins". Who would want that??! :)

That's alot harder than you might think.

Well mainly because the artists here that offer things of their own volition seem to have no interest in LOTR.

The Red Planet Toy's Aragorn sculpt happened, but they seem to be exclusively focused on 'tough-guy' characters. Pippin and Merry do not quite qualify.

I think Sideshow's handling, then whimpering abadonment of the licence really soured a lot of people. I know it did me for a long time. The LOTR sig group got me ineterested again.

it's not so much that. it's also that while sideshow isn't doing 1/6th, they DO hold the license to it. As such, people like Trev and andy CAN'T do those sculps without potentially getting into trouble with sideshow.
