Customs and commerce - make your voice heard!

A suggestion has been made to be more customizer friendly here and I think that's a good idea. In order to do that we need to make some separation between "interest" threads, "sale" threads and just showing the work.

So please vote in the poll and make suggestions on how you would like to see this split.

Normally if someone asks to be a mod I won't make them one - but in this case I'm making an exception.

I say seperate forum within the customs section. I think moving it to the marketplace might be a bit confusing for new folks.

I voted for a separate forum in the Marketplace. I think it would be good to keep all items for sale in the same area. Only downside is the commerce privilege requirements. We get a lot of people without privileges who buy custom pieces...their posts would therefore be under moderation if they responded in those threads.

Now that I think about it - maybe it would be better to make it a separate forum in Customs.

A nice generalized place for all the custom items that are for sale is a great idea then they are not getting lost among all the other threads.

I think it needs to be in the Marketplace. Since it involves buying and selling, shouldn't users be subject to the same rules (meaning the post count and length of membership limitations) as those buying/selling other items?
Or alternately, the same rules should be applied to the Sale section in the Custom forum.

If the customs section gets split into 2 again it will be the same results as last time I believe, with 1 "for sale" thread in the sale section and another "look at this" in the main section, with perhaps another in the SW or Indy or LOTR section. I'm fine with that but correct me if I'm mistaken, that was the reason the customs were merged back to 1 group. A "look at this custom" thread in the customs section with a link to the accompanying "for sale" thread in the marketplace, or just a tag in the thread name identifying the thread as a for sale or interest thread seems the best.

it also gives chance to buying whole figures...makes sense so that people don't wonder in other threads and get lost

This will mean cutting down commissions because only people with 50 posts, who've been here for 2 months will be able to get on board to get a head or whatever. It will greatly effect the ability to get projects done where we need 15 people or w/e to get a head made, mark my words, it will lead to even fewer customs being made and shown here.

Theres really nothing wrong, we have a show your shelves section right above this that would seem to be exactly what it is people want, a place to just show there work.

maybe look at doing something else with the 6 sticky threads at the top of the customs section? that's a lot of real estate. more room on the first page might help the belly aching that a particular individual's thread keeps getting bumped back to page 2 and 3 in favor of the more popular ones.
