How should we divide the custom sales from the custom show-off threads?

So you don't want to see something cool unless you can own it? You never go to museums, or look at expensive stuff in a store?

To be honest I'd love to be able to visit a 1/6 modern museum but I don't know of any. It's usually military figures, model ships and my god they were big. Such crazy detail it was breathtaking.

I like the idea of splitting up the section. In theory.

However, I have a feeling both sections will just end up becoming mostly duplicate.

I foresee customs threads used as advertisements for stuff being sold in the market section...with great pictures and a last line that reads "If you like it I'm selling this in the market section".

I voted for the split, but this is what I forsee as well.

Thread section moderation. OneSixWarriors does it the last I recall in some parts. Even new members posts had to go to moderation to decide if it was to be approved...

I find this attitude a little depressing and antithetical to the point of this part of the forum. The customs section was never intended as a marketplace but where custom artists could show off their work and people could share tips and tricks on creating something on their own.

I'm afraid this attitude won't come into play when making the decision on how to split it up - it's too bad that people who are only shopping for parts will never see some great one of a kind customs. :monkey2

Its not exactly the point though. Of course, I'm not speaking for everyone, but what I think Wofford is getting at, and if it is I agree, is that most of us, when we do go to customs, its in hopes of finding a figure that we are really interested at, and is probably not being made by a big company like HT. Or if it was already made by a bigger company...its hoping to see that its even better.
I'm pretty sure a lot of people go to customs also to check the artists' work but in the total grand scheme, once you have seen the other's work, most people when they log on to check this area, it is to see if there's any new customs or the status of a piece that they are interested on.
And just being honest but I dont think most people go to the custom section everytime just to browse artists gallery. That usually comes into play when you see a piece that you really like and then you check out all their previous work.

But basically, I think most of the people here when we do go to customs, we all look at the intention of seeing something that we are truly interested and hopefully can afford.
Ex. Its just like going to the Marvel Section, usually we check there to see if there's any news of upcoming figure...say, the HT Captain America, or the new IM Mark 6. So the excitement builds when the proto is shown...then finally when its shipped eveyone is all happy and show off their figures.
DC, hey...I wonder if they're making green Lantern, or what would be the new Batman suit.
Videogames...when is the Battle suit Jill shipping?
Customs...hmm...wonder if someones making a sculpt for my all time favorite movie...

So basically, custom is the same. A lot of people check this part to see if there's any figures that are being made by one of these talented people that was not created by the bigger companies. Or if it was was made, its in hopes that it is even better.
Personally, I think eveything is all laid out fine, I dont see the point of segregating the forum.

Just being honest but I seriously doubt that when people check this site daily to go to the customs, I dont think their intention everytime is just to browse artists gallery.
