I already said it was awesome and it is mucho awesome, but no, we can't let it slide, c'mon, the only thing Flash does is run, that's his thing, sorry, it's just so very distracting to me, it's just as bad as Superman flying butt first.

Was afraid to post my OCD comment. Such a relief, man... *phew*

Don't forget about them running to save sexy looking blonde. Classic early 60s, right? :lol

Not bad. Not bad. Great season opener.

Really liked seeing Barry's dad get cleared and out of prison.

Fantastic episode. As a fan of the JSA books, I was a little bummed to see Atom Smasher go/be turned into the villain of the week. I kind of hope he isn't dead, but, anyway, yeah; Flash of Two Worlds! Next Tuesday can't come soon enough. I'm still hoping that, at some point, they can just go full-blown, Flash revival and have Gustin Barry meet Shipp Barry. I'll advocate for that until the day it happens, the show's cancelled, or I die.:lol Also, The Flash-Signal got me in the feels. That just felt like a big "**** you" to the DC overlords.:lol

I'll say this: no one helps with collateral damage like Flash does. You can ***** about Man of Steel all you want, but, as far as I'm concerned, the TV side has squared that debate.:lecture

:lol Yeah, the cover it was based on had it right too, don't know who approved the poster, haha

Anyways, awesome season premiere! Now with the change in airport rules, I'm forced to renew my passport and might actually have a chance to work on this show in the near future with a trip to Vancouver or wherever they film.

I wouldn't call Atom Smasher a villain necessarily. He was after the Flash because Zoom promised he would send him home. Which leads me to believe Atom Smasher came through the wormhole like Jay Garrick, Zoom etc. I assume.

You're right, in that I wouldn't necessarily say his motivations were villainous, but his actions were. Nevertheless, I was using "villain of the week" as more of an expression, in that he was more of a one-dimensional antagonist who was killed in a single episode.

You bring up an excellent point with the Wormhole, though. I'm curious if Ronnie isn't dead, but, rather, stranded on Earth 2? I wonder if that won't be one of the payoffs of Legends of Tomorrow; the reuniting of Firestorm? I mean, the fall could've killed him, but it's logical to assume that, just as Flash caught Stein, one of the heroes of Earth 2 may have grabbed him on the other side.

The first episode was kind of boring and slow, and Juggernaut 2.0 was kind of lame, but the episode still had some good moments and the ending was nice.
I don't get why his father had to go away. It didn't make sense that after 15 years in prison, the first thing the guy does is leave his son :lol

I thought the Henry thing made perfect sense. He was worried that Barry would focus more on making up for lost time as Henry's son than being The Flash, and, thus, Henry put the people of Central City above his own happiness.

Shouldn't he put his son's happiness before the people of Central City though? After 15 years at least wait a week or a month. It's not like Barry isn't distracted already by Iris, his friends or his other family. At least Barry can probably visit his dad every day using his speed, assuming he knows where his father went.

It's not like he's saying "thanks code ailing me out, son; goodbye forever!" He said "I'll always be there when you need me," so, you know that he's not cutting him out of his life, but I think that, unlike the rest of Barry's allies, there is that temptation to make up for lost time, and I think what Henry was getting at is that, in his line of work, distraction could prove fatal.

The other thing to take into account is Henry, himself. 15 years is a long time, and he's probably questioning his own purpose, not to mention what his role in Barry's new "family" is, with Joe filling the mentor/father role. I'm sure there's a lot of soul searching to be done after being wrongly imprisoned for almost two decades for the murder of the one person you loved most in life. Like I said, I'm sure we'll see more of John Wesley Shipp in the show, but I think it might have been a good idea not making him such a fixture, in that, really, what can he contribute other than being Barry's dad?

Plus, it's, potentially, distracting to the viewer, as well. Look no further than my posts in this thread. Every time we get even the slightest whiff of Henry Allen, I'm all "NEED MOAR '90s FLASH!":lol

He was like...

That's right, he'll always have to take a train and several buses to be there for Barry when he needs him :lol

In all seriousness, there's reality and then there's fiction. In reality, I can see why the character might not fit or have a purpose, so they wrote him off the show for a while, since he didn't play a significant role in the first season either. In the fictional world, I get that he might be institutionalized ( like in The Shawshank Redemption), and therefore he doesn't know what to do now that he's free. My only issue is him having to leave the city so quickly. Barry has been dreaming about that day for 15 years, so just wait a few weeks, go see a movie or play some N64 games with Barry first or something. Can't he just get an apartment like Brooks did....wait..bad example :lol If it was up to me, he would play the same role he played last season, he gets an apartment and we don't see him for a while, but Barry mentions him from time to time saying that he's still adapting and doing some soul searching, but we know that he's in the city and that Barry and Henry have some kind of relationship, even if it's not perfect.

Exactly! Well said, Clown! It's not like Dad is homebound or infirmed and needs Barry to "take care of him" around the clock!

Felt like a season finale and half of a season opening scrambled together.
Hard to swallow good stuff when it's so poorly paced.

Thing of it is Robbie Amell won't be playing Firestorm in Legends of Tomorrow. Different actor and different character. Franz Drameh as Jefferson "Jax" Jackson.
