Late to the party, but finally got this in house. Now in hand, this sculpt is even better than I suspected, (if that's possible!?). The sculpting detail, the pose & sense of balance, & of course the incredible base, make this a true masterpiece.

Now for the nay sayers who complained about scale? BS!!!!!! First off, this piece should be judged as a full fledged diorama, & not as a simple comiquette figure depiction. Why(?), simply because this kick-ass base cannot (should not) be ignored, & is obviously a huge component to this sculpt. If categorized as a dio, this sculpt is plenty large.
Secondly, for those who would argue that two characters are needed to deem this a dio? Well, there are. Just one of them happens to be dead. How cool is that? Once again, Viggiano's subtle genius shines throughout this work, & I pity those who can't appreciate it.

And finally, to those who keep moaning & groaning about not being able to match this up with their existing statues? Complete rubbish, as this piece was always meant to stand alone (as I suspect that most of SS pieces are). DD perched atop a loved one's tombstone, simply says it all. No back-up, mixing & matching, or other super heros needed, period.

If collectors would take the time to really look at what is truly being offered, & judge a piece on it's intended basis, I think all the scale BS will be rendered silly at best, & deaf, dumb, & blind at it's worst.

Quality & execution over shear scale,...................... always!

Whoa what a great post, I totally agree, congrats on your dio divo. You gonna display it with the other dios?

I do own this piece and think that the details in this piece are incredible to say the least. The base speaks for itself. Its massive and captures the scene or setting for Matt perfectly. The details in the costume are ridiculous. The stiching alone on his custome is awesome. Pablo did a masterful job on this statue.

However, I would be lying if I said I wouldn't want DD himself to be bigger. This piece is slightly smaller than 1/5 scale. That being said, there was no way I wasn't going to pick up this amazing statue. I have many different scales in my collection and the small difference in this DD comiquette was not going to scare me off.

I always buy with one thought in mind....if it's a beautiful sculpt of a character I like, it will be added to my collection.

No fuzzy. As I said, this piece stands alone, as it should, & was meant to be. On a shelf, directly facing my desk (home office), to keep reminding me how lucky we are in this hobby to have two master sculptors ( Both Viggiano & Canale) plying their incredible skills, within our beloved world of marvel lore.

Hoping some see the light & support these two masters of the craft. Cause if we ever loose them(?), our hobby will be way poorer because of it.

P.S. To me, it's absolutely mind-numbing that this master work is still not sold out!!!!!!?????:dunno

I will add my support to anything they do in 1/4 scale. Just trying to shape my collection that way. Unfortunately, I have to draw the line somewhere or I'll end up with too cluttered a space. :x

No recent purchases from Sideshow?
Been awhile since we saw some terrific pics from you. :impatient:
Thanks, brother. Good to read you too. I haven't been taking too many pics lately. Last piece I got was the Gollum EX PF and I still haven't shot him. BUT... next week my Jason Voorhees EX PF arrives! Pics galore will be posted in that thread! :rock
