Congrats bro, do you like it? Looking forward to see your pics.

I like it...:) It's different and of course it's all about how you display. I plan on displaying him with my Punisher Comi' since I don't have anything else that I could companion him up with. Do I think that it's on the small side for a comiquette...yes. But at the same time from the looks of the production photos, I was thinking that it was going to be a tad bit smaller. One thing that I do like about this DD Comi' is that it has a variety displaying option.

Cool, any pics of him next to Puny? Those 2 may look good together.

Finally got my replacement from SS. Well, this one turned out way better than my last one. I actually got him on the base this time. I still managed to rub a bit of the paint off at the top of the base where his hand connects to the base. Oh well, it's really not noticeable and I'm starting to think I'm not the only one with this problem. It looks like the only way this piece stays mint is if it sits in the box and no one tries to put him on the base. :lol

Yeah, I wouldn't let that bother me though. Sounds like you got a much better one than before. Congrats! :rock

Thanks Chap. Yeah, I'm very happy with the way this one turned out. I was so pissed that I couldn't even get the last one on the base. I tried for about a half hour and sweat my ass off the whole time. I was hoping that SSC would let me bust him up. There was more than a few times I just wanted to launch DD across the room.:lol Well, SSC said to return it. I never did get to take out my frustration on that piece.

Seeing this one set up and on my display shelves more than makes up for it.:yess:

I hear you there, especially after the money that is dropped on these pieces. I'm still in love with the base on this piece. One of the best I've seen of any statue, IMO. Fits the Dardevil theme perfect. I also like all of the switch out options and "goodies" they made with this one. My only complaint is I wish it were bigger , BUT you can tell the effort they put into this one despite all of that. Even down to the nameplates. That's insane.

The detail that they put into this piece is amazing. Both the base and DD look incredible. The sculpted seams on DD costume and the crazy detail on the base really make this piece stand out. I do agree with you on the scale. SSC needs to get its head out of its ass and standardize its scale. This piece isn't even 1/5 scale like all of the other comiquettes. It's not off by much....but come on. How hard is it to make sure your comiquettes are either 1/4 or 1/5 at least?

That all being said, I couldn't pass up on this piece. Everything else was just perfect IMHO.

I remember seeing the details in the seams. I was blown away by that. I definitely see your point about the size. I'll admit SS does spoil me with 1:4 scale, so I wanted something a little bigger, BUT they made up for it in detail.

Speaking of 1:5, I still feel one of their most impressive pieces to date is the Ghost Rider Maquettes from the movies. Simply amazing what they did with those.

I agree. I don't have the western GR but I do have the EX modern GR maquette. They are stunning pieces. I expect no less from Villafane. He is one of my favorite sculptors. It's too bad he hasn't done more SS pieces. His talents are being wasted on those tiny DCdirect pieces.

Is that the one that did the GR pieces? I didnt know that, TBH. Any other SS pieces he's done?

Yes. He also did the SSC Wolverine comiquette. Another piece I love. He did a few Bowen pieces as well. He did FS Logan, the 1st FS Sabretooth, and FS Magneto all for BD. Just a crazy good sculptor with some sick skills.

Nice!!! I'll have to check out those Bowen pieces. I'll admit that I'm not big Bowen collector and don't remember what they look like off the top of my head. Thanks for the heads up. :rock
