Hey Jen!

Basically they are copies of the statue that are made during the production process, I guess for Q.C. purposes. These are not counted in the overall edition size and rise in value quicker than the regular editions.

Thanks for the info. It's an awesome looking piece...but I just ordered the Capt. America PF...so no DD for me.

I hate it when companies use Artist Proofs as a marketing gimmick rather than really treating them as Artist Proofs.

that said, this is one sweet DD.
as Shai said. Sideshowesque....

good point, may be they should add a billy cub as an exclusive and make it exc with 100 limit and 1000 regular,
it would sound more correct

regardless it is a very aesthetetic statue, sideshowesque

very unique pose & even when SS release their PF, it will be a good companion piece & illustrate his agility

yeah but extras are good (frankly speaking I can't find anything else to say to differentiate AP and regular :D )

scale issue on the other hand is another problem unfortunately,

Corect me if I'm wrong, but AP (Artist Proof) statues are the final pieces critiqued by the artist before production. These will also contain tiny flaws in design which definitely make the piece unique. I have a PS (Production Sample) of Saruman and although it is not an AP, it possesses a small flaw. The outstretched hand of Saruman doesn't quite position itself directly over the Palantir. You're unable to tell unless you are right up on the statue, but I love it just the same.

yes you are right but usually the AP version shall not be more than 10 pieces imo,
if HH is making 100 pieces AP it is because they want to sell these 100 pieces faster and for the retail price

if there weren't any AP version I wouldn't buy from HH website but would buy from ebay for 50-60 $ lower :)

Way back when, "Artist Proofs" were struck in printmaking to gauge the integrity of the "plate" medium, and to measure the progress of the artist's work.

In today's vernacular, though they are not counted as part of the overall edition size, artist proofs are usually identical to to the commercially available run of a print, book, casting, etc.

Nowadays, pieces that may contain small flaws or that differ slightly from the final commercial product are more accurately referred to as "printer's proofs," "production samples," and "prototypes."

If someone could only buy one DD would you get the Hard Hero version (which is hella cool) or hold out and see what SSC produces????

i would either get the hard hero one(which im getting) or the attakus dd. im sure sideshow will make a sweet daredevil statue though.

who am i kidding i will probably get them all

It does seem that the SS pieces hold their value better. I've seen some Hard Hero pieces going for way under retail on eBay. I shall wait. :D :D
