Alright, just finished. Overall it was a great show and fun watch, although at times, I felt there was a bit too much going on and too much focus being put on Karen. Should have tone down the Karen stuff and spend more time on Punisher, Daredevil and Elektra. Speak of the Punisher, it was simply my favorite part of the show, in fact, I think one of the reasons I'm not completely ecstatic about season 2 is because I feel I wanted to see a lot more of Punisher killing criminals than they actually showed. Actually, come to think of it, I have a couple issues with the Punisher.

One was how there was a lot going on with his origin story. Why try to mess with that? Just make it about a man who had his family killed by criminals. I'm concerned where they are going with his story with the Colonel and whatever happened in Kandahar. Clearly, that will be the focus of his first season/show. The second thing was how he barely had a presence on the final rooftop fight. They should have give him that mini-gun and had him waste a thousand ninjas.... MAJOR wasted opportunity there.

Overall, I'm very happy with it and 100% looking forward to a Punisher show and to seeing more of Kingpin and hopefully a Bullseye on DD Season 3.

Finished the season last night. While the writing is weaker than S1 and JJ, I liked S2 better overall. The Hand plot is more intriguing, Bernthal gives us a friggin amazing performance that's Emmy-worthy, Yung delivers on Elektra, and the action scenes are better and more plentiful than S1. My main complaint is the rushed pacing of the last 3 episodes, lazy writing partly to blame. They could've spread some of those plot reveals throughout the season and cut down on Karen's subplots.

Bullseye is a MUST next season. Here's hoping they get it done.

Finished the season and wow......I could nitpick a few things but overall will be better then any cbm on the big screen his year. Punisher, DD, Elektra all nicely done (for the most part)....the relationships, sacrifices, the baddies so well done....bring on season 3 :clap

It's funny, I was actually thinking the same thing. :lol We had like a hundred extras those 3 nights for that rooftop scene, I was looking across at them and wondering, the Punisher is gonna bring a mini-gun and mow down all those guys to even the fight. :lol

Daredevil released April 10th, 2015. Jessica Jones was in November.

From what you said.... it seems to takes around 4-6 months to shoot a season? Could you provide us with a timeline of shooting? Like Iron Fist June to November? Then JJ picks up from November to May? Something like that? It seems like Daredevil won't be back on until 2018! That would be such a long wait..... they couldn't do that.....

I'm confident they'll try to churn one out next year like every tv show has it's yearly season. :wink1:

Just finished S2. Bring on a damn Punisher series. I'm on board.

Kingpin's scenes were so great. They used him just enough. I almost hope to see him as a season story arc for Punisher instead of DD. Probably not, I think they forshadowed a Born Again translation.

Frank Castle was sooo f---ing amazing. I love how they broke away from a traditional origin story for him but his family's death hangs over everything.

Electra seems like a work in progress. Her characterization seems off. Maybe when she returns from the dead she'll be a little less charisma and fetish.

Fight choreography was amazing again. My personal favorite was Matt fighting his way down the stairwell at the biker gang HQ. This show loves it's Oldboy hallway scene homages.

Friggin loved it. One of my favourite parts of the season was the dialogue between DD and punisher. It wasn't your typical back and forth that you see in most films. Its like when you have that one hot-headed ******* friend and you're trying to talk sense to him and calm him down. They nailed that almost familiarity and it worked so well.

I too expected
Frank to show up with a mini gun, and mow down that army of ninja. At least something with a little more oomph than the rifle.

As far as I'm concerned, John Bernthal IS the punisher.

I do agree with what batfan said, they should've ended the Punisher's arc at the scene he mentioned BUT since they didn't then I agree with DFanatic that Punisher should've had more to do.

Nonetheless still an incredible 11.8 hour journey that was.

Punisher's character study alone was superb!

Ok I am not going to read anything here because I am only 3 episodes in. 1st thing.. I am so happy to finally see the Punisher done right in film form. I have been waiting to see this since 1988 :) So far I have no complaints... Of course I have 10 episodes to go but I think this is better then season 1 by a lot. I enjoy season 1 but found some episodes to be very dry and drawn out. First three episodes of season 2 have flown by.

I finished it! I liked it! I really didn't like Karen or Foggy in the first season, but I really liked more here. And Frank...he was great! Although, to be fair to Foggy, I really loved the episode Nelson V Murdock in the first season. It really made me re-think Batman as an altruistic character. I just can't wait till be can really see the Punisher unleash in future seasons. They already brought up child ****ography, and I can only imagine seeing Punisher unleash while going after ***-slavers.

I've read reviews scathing reviews for cheesy dialogue and such, and I can agree with that. However, I haven't seen a critically acclaimed live action television show that didn't have really cheesy acting or dialogue at times. Every British show that I've seen besides Downtown Abbey, like Luther or Sherlock, were ridiculously cheesy. They the writing in those shows is super contrived and for some reason there's this notion that making characters omnipotent is smart writing. I think this season was better than seasons from those shows as well as highly rated shows like Dexter. Heck, I love Breaking Bad, but the writing was really weak at times and I found the humor at times to be super juvenille and distracting (the face off scene and turret finale scenes were so dumb to me).

Anyways, I really loved the first season's parallels of Matt and Fisk's upbringing and ideologies and how the developed to a point of acceptance of their roles in life, so I much prefer first season. I love Frank, but I just think from a story perspective, I thought the way they developed Matt and Kingpin was a much stronger driving force. I also really liked the relationship between Matt and Claire, Matt and his priest, and Matt and Stick. While, I found Ben Ulrich, Wesley, and the Russians to be pretty bland and Karen and Foggy to be annoying so, I feel like the Season 2 peaked in episodes 3-5, and then it was just kind of decent afterwards. I thought everything with Elektra on-wards was dull, and the only part that got my interest back was with Punisher.

Fight scene-wise, the stair-well fight beat the hallway fight as my favorite superhero fight. I loved how they pulled from the "No More Mister Nice Guy" cover! I had that for my avatar for a long time on this site. I really want to know what Frank Miller thinks of this, but I think he would be happy.

Loved it.Absolutely.Season 1 took me a couple of months to get through what with one thing or another-this,about 15 hours.

Punisher dominates, for me,every scene he appears in.Having no prior experience of Jon Bernthal,I wasn't expecting to enjoy him as much as I did.

I hope his Dog is OK.

Thanks Netflix for restoring my faith in Television.Hot Toys please get on this.

The reviews for S2 were pretty unforgiving and somewhat unwarranted. I think the high expectations after S1 (and probably JJ too) had a lot to do with it. While the writing got pretty lazy in certain stretches, I still find S2 was a marginal improvement overall to S1. S2 did have more of a comic book feel and more linear main arc to it, so maybe that turned off the critics.

I loved this season... far more than Season 1.

Elektra was amazing... I really hope she is in Season 3. Although she wasn't exactly comic accurate, I enjoyed their take on her.

I liked all the Karen scenes as well.

Well, my wife agrees with the mainstream critics, she prefers S1.

She said it started off great but then quickly went down hill and finally limped across the finish line with its poorly handled Elektra/Hand storyline, DD's forced crisis of conscious and Punisher's arc being kept a secret at the end.

She said one second DD preaches not killing criminals then next second he's throwing criminals down a flight of steps and bashing their head into the concrete, so paralyzed or a head bleed is ok but not death?

She complained of the unrealistic hospital attack where Claire was kicked out of a window and never mentioned again plus the murder of a nurse being covered up and Claire not going to the police with it even AFTER she quit in anger over the cover up.

She said the ninja fighting made no sense, one second DD/Elektra can take on as many as possible then the next second they're overwhelmed by them.

She said the 2 dudes could've just shot Punisher in the head thru the window at the DINER instead of going in to confront him without even wearing bullet proof vests!

She said the van that showed up at Punisher's house never amounted to anything.

She said Blacksky made no sense.

She said just like with S1 it went on for 2 episodes too long.

She complained even more but I was too exhausted to process everything. :lol

Sigh....:lol

My wife much prefers JJ, though she also prefers S1 a bit more than S2. She basically wasn't a huge fan of S2 but she did love Bernthal's Punisher. I don't discount the issues many folks have with S2, namely the writing and number of subplots, but I think for many of us who were looking for the more typical superhero show, S2 delivers on many fronts. I've noticed on the forums, S2 is generally getting rave reviews, as opposed to the critics. And it also gives us the best live action representations of Punisher and Elektra, and this is in no way as comparison to the crap films prior, they just nailed these characters really well. All comes down to what's important to the viewer.

I will bring up one thing that was really stoopid, when the newspaper reporter ORDERED the 2 cops to escort Karen.

Since when do reporters have the authority to send cops on an official mission, especially one that involved them deserting a murder scene! :slap

That was really bad! :lol
