My roommate from law school for 5 yrs in NYC was a DA. He wasnt over the dog catcher much less the chief of police.

And no DA is given tactical command to run that kind of operation. It just doesnt make sense to put someone in charge who probably has never fired a weapon, breeched a door, no training, nothing. DAs are not gods in any city.

:exactly: :lecture

If anything they are usually hated and viewed as anti police snitches. :lol

You bring up a great point I enjoyed how they handled her morality with how she reacted to certain situations.

Her killing Wesley (being a Punisher herself) should've been a conversation she had with Castle, would've been an interesting angle.

For me it was self defense anyways.

But what really happened to her brother?

I though S1 was outstanding and this season was somehow even better! I get the minor nitpicks but I don't understand how the media has been negative about this.
I think the negativity has gotten really bad over the last few years where we now have non-comic people pretending they're comic fans. I've stopped reading many of the comicy media sites because they routinely give off the "too cool" vibe and need to make everything sound bad.

I can't believe we get serious takes on some of these characters!

:slap You do realize what a DA powers are in New York City.... right? They are the chief law enforcement officer and have the power to investigate (such as running operations), arrest, and prosecute. They are even over the police commissioner.

I think we can put this puppy to rest :clap Might wanna fact-check before jumping on the soap box there.

I would hate for them to kill off Karen. I know she goes down a dark path and eventually dies in the comics but I hope that's not the case for the show.

I did.

"The district attorney (DA) represents the state government in the prosecution of criminal offenses, and is the chief law enforcement officer and legal officer of that state's jurisdiction."

"In New York City, the district attorney is the chief law enforcement officer in their respective borough. Their authority, for instance, supersedes even the New York City police department’s commissioner. District attorneys can INVESTIGATE and PROSECUTE criminal activity. They don’t have to wait for the local police department to investigate."

^ And no where does it state that DAs can assume tactical command.

If it is true... they are over the commissioner... what is so hard to believe they can sit in/run a operation in coordination with the police? It seems pretty believable.

Here is an article.

"The indictment follows a long-term investigation, including the use of court-authorized wiretaps, conducted by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office’s Trial Division and detectives from the NYPD’s Narcotics Borough Manhattan North."
That operation/investigation was conducted by the DA.

DISTRICT ATTORNEY VANCE AND POLICE COMMISSIONER BRATTON ANNOUNCE INDICTMENT OF TWO MAJOR HEROIN, PCP RINGS | The New York County District Attorney's Office

I am sure there are others were DAs are active in these investigations/operations in coordination with the police as seen in Daredevil.

I agree WWE, her being there doesn't require a huge stretch of the imagination unlike that reporter ordering cops to missions, that hospital cover up or Fisk running the entire jail but they still showed her in complete tactical command. :slap

I didn't mind her being in the command center, but when she started barking out orders, that's when I was :slap I never questioned Reyes being onsite to make sure the op goes by the books so they can prosecute, but her being in command was ridiculous. Maybe in some small town in Wisconsin that's allowed, but this is NYC.

I feel like Warden Fisk was a little much. Having a few guards in his pocket is one thing, but the whole damn prison? Plus, that's got to be expensive as ****. If Vanessa's relying on that protection money, then she's ****ed.:lol

Not really, when he took over the prison it's also implied he took over the drug running in the prison, hence why he said he offered the guards a more significant cut of the profits. Part of the reason he took over the prison is to insure he will be taken care of, and also since his funds were depleted he now has a source of income that the Government can't seize.

Cool, i must've missed that part about the drug running, that makes sense. Pretty cool takeover, using Frank as a pawn, like a kingpin would... :wink1:

:nono

Frank was no pawn.

Frank even told him he wasn't and that he would get Fisk last.

Frank went on Fisk's mission for his own personal gain.

However...I was hoping that:

the cop in the court house was from an elite CIA team that Frank belonged to and he risked his life helping Frank escape jail. I'm ok though with that cop being a thug for Fisk I just prefer my version better. :lol

SPOILER COMMENTS BELOW...

Just finished Season 2. I liked it very much. however, S1 > S2 overall IMO. doesn't take away how great S2 is especially the fight scenes (best part was him clutching out that 5or4? v 1 fist fight with the hand ninja then bursting out the hype, lol). the new costume looks so much better btw.

Parts that gave me chills was the seeing the dug hole, fisk matt convo and everytime fisk fist fights. was really sad seeing the nelson and murdock fall apart.

I guess the main reason S1 is better for me, because Fisk is far more scarier than the hand.

It's now safe for me to enter here as I finished the season two hours ago. I loved it. Great season..i just wish the finale had more punisher (I hope that's not a spoiler my app doesn't have the spoiler tags).

Since it seems like they are creating this shared universe that marvel did with the avengers and DC is trying to do, who would be a bad guy? Avengers we know loki ultron and thanos were the big draws. JL has darkseid. Who would be the big bad for street level characters like DD and Luke cage ? DD has beaten Fisk on his own.
