Okay Sean, this is an intervention :lecture

Get thee to a video store, or if you're on the Netflix I highly suggest you get you're required horror movie viewing in.

I was willing to look the other way when it came to Indy... but these wrongs must be set right!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Wait a minute, you haven't even seen the Evil Dead movies? I think they'll revoke your fanboy membership card for that.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

:horror :horror :horror

Sweet fancy Moses Sean!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

You must, I repeat MUST, see these films!!!!!! NOES, TCM, Hellraiser, F13 2-5 are ESSENTIAL moving viewing!!

October is coming it, I expect all these movies to have been seen and properly reviewed by you before Halloween!

Also, you gotta watch the original Psycho. 100% classic and gave the horror film its 1st true crazy!

I actually did see the first Evil Dead, one of my friends freshman year told a buch of us we had to watch, I didn't care for it at that time, but my movie tastes have changed, so who knows what I'd think today, it'd be like the first time anyway, I only remember what I thought, don't remember the movie.

sweet!! if you have a blu-ray or hd dvd player, get The Shining. The transfer is just GORGEOUS.

one of the scariest movies ever made in my opinion.

Awesome! Dont forget to pick up Psycho, the original!!!!

Highly underrated by most fans of modern horror. A lot of people forget that Norman Bates paved the way for a whole new sub genre of horror. The "horror-of-personality" film was born with Psycho, before every thing was monsters and outer space invaders. The psychotic "every man" was born with this movie. He inspired some of todays highly regarded horror icons, like Leatherface and Hannibal. Norman Bates, having been inspired by a real killer Ed Gein, changed the landscape of horror for years to come.

Anyway, what Psycho 1st.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

i remember the first time I saw Psycho. I was probably 10 years old, and the movie was so scary to me that i actually turned around and watched the entire movie through a reflection in a window on the other side of the room.

Same here. My mom was/is a huge fan of horror movies, so at a very youong age I got to watch Psycho. This movie and the Exorcist, both watched around the age of 10, scared the living shat out of me!

It doesn't scare me anymore, but it still creeps me out.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I forgot, I have seen Psycho, new and old, the end of the original is creepy, not like modern horror creepy, just psychologically creepy.

No BR or HD yet though, spend all my spare cash on collectibles, but saving up to get an HD TV and BR around Christmas, I want Batman Begins and TDK to be my first BR movies I check out, I'm kinda weird like that. I had to have Phantom Menace be the first DVD I ever watched and owned too.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Yeah, the original Psycho ROCKS.. I love that film. You MUST see The Shining, The Thing, NOES 1 and 3 at least, Hellraiser, TCM part 1, and Evil Dead 2. Evil Dead part one is good, but Raimi really develops his style in the second one and it shows. Army of Darkness is good fun too, cult classic.. but the second is my favorite. Nothing beats the bits where he is alone and slipping into madness. :lol

Dude, I wish you lived close... I would be on my way to your house already, with a HUGE pile of DVD's. :rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Here are a few others you might want to check out, besides the ones mentioned.

Poltergeist
An American Werewolf in London
The Omen (original trilogy)
Carrie
The Hills have Eyes
13 ghosts
The Hitcher (1986 version)
Night of the living dead (Dead series)
Rosemary's Baby
The Fly (Jeff Goldblum one)
Phantasm (1st one)
The haunting
Seven (not sure if it fits in this category)
Aliens (surprised it wasnt mentioned before)
Salem's Lot (original)
Susperia

Im sure there are a lot more, but these are all I can think of at this moment.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Yeah, The Shining should be at the top of the list... it is in its own league.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

I just caught up reading the past few posts and agree with everyone else Sean. You MUST watch all the horror movies mentioned. Especially with that special time coming around: Halloween and Spooktacular!:banana:rock

On so many levels living close to you would be badass, forget shooting your work and all, but two twisted guys like you and me together'd be trouble, imagine going out for Halloween :rock You could be classic Myers, I could be Rob Zombie's, I'm definitely more Tyler Mane's build than Nick Castle or ^^^^ Warlock.

Well, I struck out today, the comic shop I went in was hurting for DVDs, but I will not give up :) Just try a new store.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

No offense intended, but we have several movie threads and a whole horror section. This thread is for works of the DarkArtist himself. :D

Check Ebay. I know from trying to sell a few DVDs recently that the prices have plunged.
