Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks for all of the support guys... Sean is certainly right, that there are a lot of subtle details that wash out in photos (my bad ones that is :lol). And I'm continuously trying to find new details to fit into the figures themselves. So I'm always happy to see people get their stuff and be as blown away as I want them to be. :D

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh, sent you a PM about my Anakin head.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Its true, the 1984 Hicks figure I have is unbelievable in person... its hard to imagine how much work goes into these figures once you see them in person.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

cool! looking forward to seeing that in person finally. i'm particularly excited about the sith anakin (with the dark shadow details on there like the one on your site).

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

:lol Thanks guys. That Hero Head has been painted by me 4 or 5 times so far, and I get better at it every time. It's a great sculpt, just a bit rough in areas. Paints like a dream though.

And DK2K, it is entirely possible. I can make ANY version of Arnold from T1, Army jacket version (which I have done twice), Police station scene (might be hard to find the shades though), or the end with the super damaged head.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Hey Josh, what boots did you use for Pjam's T1 figure? Looked like frontline or maybe Did, but wasn't sure of the specific version.

Actually, the boots for his were the Terminator boots from Hot Toys. But I could fabricate those boots from boots available online.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Josh, I'm fairly new to your work and the stuff on your thread is amazing. I do have one question; I was wondering, when you create new sculpts, what do you use (resin brand etc) to create the headsculpt casts, and what manufacturer do you use for the molds themselves?

The reason I ask is that I have a Kane headsculpt from ALIEN which I think will be completed tomorrow to replace the 'Freddy Mercury' sculpt the Hot Toys figure comes with and coming to the US from England I'm not familiar with the casting and mold making materials / manufacturers available here, so I thought I may as well ask a master.

Best Regards, Space Jockey.

I was talking about this one, maybe Paul switched boots? But these look like leather ones:

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

might make one of those or should I say get one made since I'm gonna have that silver pistol left from the hot toys figure. Is a 1/6 pistol enough to convince me to start another full figure ?!. :lol

Probably.... :lol:rock

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

ahh... I see what you mean.. Yeah, those are DID. He must have swapped them out.

And Space Jockey... I use Smooth On products. Smooth Cast 300 for the resin, and Smooth On Oomoo 30 for my molds. For heads, I use Styrofoam cups and suspend the head inside it to make it work. Easy as pie. :rock
