Hope that helped man!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Ok guys, just got finished with The Punisher's skin tone and started the hair... just wanted to share the process with you guys. Remember, this is not the final piece, I still have a lot to do.... :monkey2

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Excellent work! Your skintones are turning out very nicely, and you're not slapping on paint that's waaay too thick, unlike a few customs that are popping up outside of the galleries section.

Can't wait to see more!!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks Mikey! I'm trying my best to keep the paint nice and thin.. starting out darker and brushing lighter over the top of that. It works a lot better with each new sculpt, so I'm glad to have these heads to practice a bit on.

Soon I will be painting an Orc sculpt, so expect pics of that soon. I'm just trying to figure out if I want to go with a green hue or a gray one... Either way it should be a lot of fun..

And it will be a welcome break from all the "humans" :lol

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Looks really good Josh...I scrolled to the bottom of the page really fast and didn't actually READ your post, just saw the new pix and for a secound I though "Oh crap that doesn't look anything like the Kurgan?!?!?!?":lol...I'am not entirely sure why I thought that, its just the first thing that poped into my mind:lol.I think its becuase I saw his jacket in the back ground and just connected the 2..Anyway that does look good so far.

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

:lol :lol :lol :lol

Good one King! Yeah, I could see how you can make that connection... same pasty skin, same hair color... jacket in the background..

I'm just such a slacker that I have yet to move anything on my painting desk. :monkey2

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Finished Punisher, stumbled a little on the eyes... But I eventually fixed my errors.... :D

Please forgive the shiny look, I had just sprayed him with a matte finish and he wasn't quite dry yet. I just couldn't wait to show him off.....

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

Thanks Josh....You know what though, with a ponytail he would make a good Kurgan when he first checks into the hotel...And you did a really nice job on this head! You should just buy a whole stock of FL heads and paint away. Lookin good Josh!

Re: DarkArtist's Creations of DOOM!

Thanks King... I really am considering getting a few of the FL heads just for fun. Just paint and get a little practice in. I mean, at 10 bucks a pop... not bad for practice. I could always throw bodies underneath them and make customs or background peeps for my pictures! :lol

Yeah for $10 buck, it aint bad....And the more head apps you do the better you'll get, and then you can move to China and paint bad lips on SS figures:lol

Josh, he looks great, but he's awfully shiny.

Thanks Mikey! Yeah, he was still wet at the time I shot these pics. The matte finish was just sprayed, but I couldn't wait for it to dry so I just snapped the pics....:lol

Ok, new pics of a slightly redone mask, just lightened it up a little bit... closer to my original work.

:lol

Thanks Creech! I really had a lot of fun painting him. I always loved the jacket on this figure, but it wasn't dirty enough... or torn enough for my taste. So I burned it, ripped it, cut it and painted it. Giving it a much more "lived in" look. The mask needed the same treatment. He was decomposing in the dirt at the beginning of the movie and his mask was exposed to fire, beer, dirt, blood and lake mud. It looked like Hell by the end of the movie and that was what I wanted. I was so happy to have another one to work on, after I sold the original work to Shai. :D

My fiance is scared of him though... :horror
