So...you naturally go back to the last worst thing to happen, and not any of the pieces in between that and pre-ordering this? And compare that to this, even though Darkseids paint scheme doesn't appear anywhere near as complex as Apocalypse's was?

I'm all for, "hey I'm gonna wait for in hand pics because I'm not sold over-all", but your logic is a bit weird.
I'd say he made a fair comparison. Similar size (our should be), fully sculpted, with what is, relatively speaking, a simple paint job. Perhaps Apoc was given to certain painters/plant due to assumed simple paint job. Though reports of late are good on QC, I think his comparison is valid.

But Apocalypses paint isn't simple. Theres a lot of variation of similar hues on him, if they arent done just right it'd look like a blue grey blob. But the paint him was more sloppy than anything else. Darkseid has we defined areas of color. Much more simple.

I know. I love mine but I get where he is coming from.

Flip of the coin: I've seen Apocalypse Ex going for retail or under many times, so no loss there.
I jumped on Lobo's WL one day after it "sold out" and people here told me it wouldn't convert. 4 days later, it converted.
Let's not kid each other - some people here around are just fanboys who love to over hype every statue just for the sake of it.

I'm certain anyone who jumps on a WL fairly early will get the conversion. Obviously the longer you wait, the longer your odds become. Unfortunately, the EX Apoc PF was riddled with QC issues. That's why the aftermarket prices haven't taken off on the piece. As for fanboys...I've been at this game long enough to know who's posts to read and who's posts to ignore.

I'm just talking about painting within the lines. They are both "big" and have relatively "clean" lines with no mixed media. I cannot think of another recent statue that fits those criteria. I am also worried about the lava effect, but that won't be a deal breaker.

This will cost me $880 Canadian dollars based on today's exchange rate (incl. 13% tax) and that doesn't include shipping. I want to be optimistic again but frankly SS has not done enough to earn that...yet.

DC has much better qc, Marvel... Hmmm

My recent Marvel PFs have all had good QC. My Red Skull PF, Deadpool PF, and even my EX Apocalypse PF (which was riddled with QC issues) all came out looking good for me. I have a few more Marvel PFs on the way (modern Thor, Emma Frost, and Dr. Doom). I can only hope they turn out as good as the last few Marvel PFs I've received.

You got me thinking how I didn't really PO a lot of Marvel PF's before. Most of the pieces I've got are from the aftermarket.

2 heads, beastly pose, this looks awesome! :yess:

Imagine the angry head had light up eyes too, Omega beam!
I just wish we stop accepting a second coh as an exclusive. Think Lobo. Creative. Maybe have something battle damaged.

Mainly talking about the 500$ and up club for the 2 head sculpt comment. Catwoman, Batgirl. Coh is acceptable. Darkseid no way. Lobo Statue set or should be the standard for boss villain statues at that price point.

Great idea with the battle damage exclusive but that usually best for Iron Man.

Welcome to the forum.

When it's done right, I think a good COH adds a lot to a piece. It can give a statue a completely different look or vibe. The Rhino COM, Red Skull, OG Cap, Harley Quinn, and Joker PFs are just a few statues that I think look great with their EX COH options. I don't mind them as EX features when they look good.

Switch out head exclusives have been there since the dawn of 1/4 scale statue time..it's not going anywhere
I'm not saying get rid of coh, I like the option, I'm saying for the $500 price point statues offer a exclusive worth pre odering. Coh should be inclusive. Not exclusive.
