Re: Darth Vader (Mythos) Statue

Will judge myself when Maul arrive.. but it looks like I will def. wait on all to come out before I purchase any of them.

They will not sell out anytime soon anyway and pre order looks to risky.. so I wait for pics in hand after Obiwan for the rest of the line

I may just do the same thing. I'll see monday on Maul but I have mixed feelings after these pics.

He looks like someone just shoved a pole up his butt...

..."that hurt. But I'm too bad-a$$ too show any real emotion" :)

Well after taking good look I decided to return mine. 3 Things bother me about it:

1) Again same SS stuff sloppy paint application.
2) Got a closer look at the eyes, indeed they are off on both heads.
3) The color on his body is a different shade than the color on his face.

The sculpt looks good, just the same QC issues from SS that keep ruining good statues. Please make it stop SS!!!!

Damn, really?!

I've seen a lot worse, lol :D

Me too.

Sideshow changed the gallery pics on their website for this piece to match the true product. I wonder if Sideshow displays their prototypes anywhere?? I really liked the look of the prototype rather then what I have been seeing with the in hand pics. I'm still eagerly awaiting to receive mine!

I need to see more pics. I have it on FlexPay and I have two weeks until my last payment. I'm not sure I still want it at this point...

Indeed. These issues have been like the plague with their statues.

Here, they have a new line (Mythos).
A chance to start with fresh ideas and address the paint app/googly eyed problems they've had in the past.

Alas, nothing new here. All the same issues have returned. :(

Agreed. But check this... :(

Production left / Proto right

Proto eye direction looks far better and matches the direction he's holding the stick / or hand, whichever you use - looking back over his shoulder.

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl You nailed the expression! That's why I quit buying SS statues.
The upper chest area, the collor bone area, doesn't look nature. even if he took steriod, should not turn out like that!

Well..this is a little bit average IMO :monkey4.

I hope this isn't a bad omen for the rest of the Mythos line, especially those with the more detailed paint apps.

I think these last pics look great. Now saying that, sideshow should know better than to change the piece from proto without advising customers. This piece looks good, proto looks better...they set themselves up for under delivering on expectations. I will hold mine once its in, but the slightest issue with it and it will go back. There needs to be strict QC on product and some of the blemishes I'm seeing in pics are inexcusable.
