OK, its been driving me crazy... seeing all these fantastic close-up shots of Maul. What's up with my camera? Am I macro-intolerant?

So... diligently, obsessively, I finally captured a good clean close-up. Almost looks like that moment before he gets chopped...almost...

NICE shot! The eyes look so watery and the look on his face is so full of inner conflict that I kinda wannna see a single tear trail down his cheak. Maul look sad...:monkey2

Now what am I supposed to do with this one?

I would hold onto it if you're a Maul fan. Is it the best Maul figure, certainly not now by a long shot, however, if you love the character, it's still a nice addition to your collection, I'm still going to treasure mine, course I have sentimental value on my Hasbro Maul, it was in very short supply in my area of the states, and my father used all his resources to track one down for my birthday and I was the most excited a person could be about a gift like that, and I couldn't put him down, so whenever I take out my old Maul, I may think "hey, he's no Sideshow," but i'll also think "a parent that would do anything for me gave his all to get me this, I just got Sideshow with the click of a button." I think as much as product quality is a positive of Star Wars collecting, there's room for fond memories and great expressions of love from friends and family behind some of our items, and they may not be the best, but they carry more value than the most well crafted pieces.

Its really excellent to see so many people thrilled with this figure... and after a full 24 hours with the figure the glow is not wearing off! I really hope this is a sign of things to come.

And of course :rock :rock :rock

Nice pics, everyone. I am so happy SS did Maul with the serious expression and not the grimmaced one!

This is an incredible looking piece....Amazing....!

I may search ebay for that Hasbro Maul since I'm a fan of the character.

Glad you guys like my pics. Makes this very amature photo taker feel good. I hadn't seen many hooded shots so I figured I'd take one to match one of my other auto pics of Maul.

Well, I think he means looking up through his lids as in a menacing look... i.e the hangar scene, when Maul looks up at the Jedi... Not just a raising of the pupils...

EXACTLY! but nice try Wor. he does look sleepy in that lol, but the again he kinda looks sleepy right outta the box. i just thought the "looking up thru his lids" might make him look more menacing or determined.

I might be more for this, except the neck aerticulation for forward movement is very limited. He'll end up looking up a lot, like someone just said something stupid.

Turns out its harder to phototshop eyes than I thought... anyway what was supposed to approximate Maul looking through his lids looks more like Maul bored with another Naysayer against the Krusaders :lol ... thats right Maul would totally be on our side! :maul

When you tilt your head forward, but continue to look straight, your eyes actually open up a bit more. Due to the fact that Maul's eyes can't be "opened" any more, I say it would be extremely difficult to repaint Maul's eyes in said manner. Just leave them alone haha!:lol

Yeah, its tough to get it to look right. Here's another attempt... a bit better but he still looks like he wants to say: "You're getting sleepy... Sleepy..."

Or maybe: "Excuse me, but do you have any Grey Poupon?"

:D
