Darth Maul 12" Image Thread

I'm kinda sad and dissappointed. I just got back for Spring Break after being at college since Christmas. I had gotten my Darth Maul around the Christmas break time and the belt was damaged (two silver buttons missing and one of the pegs in the clip was broken off) and so I sent it in for a replacement. Well, the replacement belt is damaged too. A peg is broken again off the clip in the back, the front cloth flap is glued on crooked and off-center, and the leather bands around the belt are so bent out of shape it would be a joke to put it on him, actually I think they were glued wrong and so it's impossible to just bend them back into the right shape.

Looks like I'm going to have to send the belt back again....

Hey sith lord I love the second wallpaper you did! This one is good but the probe droids need to maybe.... not look so streaky? I almost didn't know what they were. That would be my only critique.

It's meant to be a highly exaggerated motion blur. The idea is that the probe droids are whipping around in orbit at a very high velocity. So if I didn't get that point across well enough, any suggestions on how to fix it?

It was the one part of that picture that was a real pain to do.

Got my Maul some months ago with belt problems. Not as bad as yours, but one end of the belt is loose, off-center, with badly applied glue. In a way I'm relieved that it's not just me.

Some of the rivets are crooked too. Can I seek a replacement belt from SSC without returning the figure (which has a perfect paint app)?

Whoop, somehow I have evaded a response to this.

I think perhaps if the motion blur occured more behind the actual droid than in front, folks would understand more that it's a probe droid that they're seeing rather than a snake or something else.

I have to repaint my Maul's eyes, seems SS had painted a little of his left eye on his lid.Hardly noticeable really, but after seeing how much the eye placement changed the over all expression on yours.It's a must now.

My Maul's left eye was the same. One of the main reasons why I wanted to repaint them, that and move the pupils up a bit more as well as get rid of that dang white dot.

Yeah...I wish SS would stop the using white dot as well makes them look like well......dolls.

Gloss looks mucho better to acheive those light reflections naturally.

And SS could save money on using the white paint.

It was only because I had decided not to collect the 12" figures. I never doubted the quality of Maul, and if I did, the 4-star review from Michael Crawford would have convinced me on its own.

No, I guess you could say that what I actually broke down when I made the decision to buy 12" figures in general. I'm weak. Sue me. But these things rock.

I always thought the SSC Maul was as good as any Custom I have and that is saying a lot for those who know my stuff.
