You think my obsession is bad, take a look at her closet and her shoes! :thud:

Just an interesting note I wanted to pass along to everyone about this piece. The one shown at Comic-Con this past July and the one shown in the current picture gallery on the site of the Darth Maul Legendary Scale Figure is an actual production piece. Just a little neat note I wanted to pass on to ya'll. :)

curious about this statement. more than 1 collector has said they were told it was a proto at SDCC by SS reps and there was the possibility of further adjustments. given the valid concerns raised by many, I personally hoped for something better.

There were quite a few Legendary Scale Figures on display at SDCC that were indeed prototypes. The Darth Maul and Obi Wan Figure (and the previous Iron Man) ones, however, were production pieces on display at the show.

I humbly disagree. SSC has a policy of replace twice then refund. You got lucky that on the third it worked but some aren't. Also internationally they would have to figure out whether to smash the hand only and send that or if it's built solidly connected to the arm, smash that. Can you imagine SSC wanting to really send things internationally multiple times to see if they get one right? On these larger pieces I would imagine they'll jump to refund more than replace because of cost associated with it.

The logistics on items this big are completely different than something in 1:4 scale but the problem is that the same issues can occur in 1:2 as it does in 1:4.

Something this big and of this high price point, i HIGHLY doubt SS will even replace one time. It is going to set them back big time. They will probably only offer you a small refund for you to keep it with the defect, or have you return it for your money back.

Hello Sideshow Alex, and thank you for this information.

I have an other question about this Darth Maul Legendary Scale Figure.

Will you change the diameter of the light saber?

For it appears that it is out of scale.

I wait your answer!

It was confirmed here that Obi's head was painted by a talented boardmember,Silentsurfer if I remember correctly, and the hands were painted by the factory...that hardly qualifies as a production piece... could you elaborate, please? Thanks.

Fu..Fu..Fu..Fu..Fu... Must find a way to have this.

I bet there must be a bank near you. You got lots of choices :gah:

I would definitely have to go that route if I want to own this. Still undecided about which one to chose. :cuckoo:

Nice!
What are the 1:1 busts go for these days?
What was your highest bid?

Yes for a little more you get a full version!! Not a bad deal at all :)
Do what I do, fill up your rooms with statues and 1:2 scales and she will not even blink an eye. :lol

1:1 bust where going for $1500+pp.. I had about $1200 to spend this is why I'm so F%#£ed.. When my wife finds out I'm soooo F&@*ed.. Just received Boba Fett's MR 1:1 scale blaster and she went mad... Oh F@&k! Oh F@€k oh F#%k.. This peace just too good to pass up.. Thought the boots looked fine and yes the lightsaber looked a bit too big but WTF everything else about this peace is too F?#King cool.

Not the Obi LSF apparently...

I had the absolute honor of getting to paint this amazing LSF debut figure.

I can't wait to see it set up tomorrow at the booth.

(this post is taken from the Obi Wan LSF thread)

I am really excited for whoever will be buying this, it looks amazing. I am in the camp of preferring less but higher quality pieces, so in a way its like hmmm 6 PF figure or this, 14 1/6th scale figures or this, I almost think I would almost rather have this, don't think I could find the room even if i tried though. I'll be really interested to see Obi-wan released, I think he would make it even more tempting.

Did anyone notice that orders must be placed by Jan 23, 2012 for this piece? I wonder if they will stop the ES at whatever number of orders is in at that point. Anyone know for sure? I may be interested in purchasing this piece hate the feeling like I'm being pressured into making hasty decisions. Yes three months is not enough time to save for one of these, the flex payment is higher than my car payment; what's that all about?!?!!?!?!

Maybe I missed something but isn't that only with Flexpay if you want your order to start on Jan 25th? Otherwise your Flexpay will just start the next month?

You are correct. All Flexpay orders have a deadline so they can start up the scheduled payment plan.

I do like the fake low quantity bar that never goes down that they they have up for flexpay tho. Very good marketing.

Yeah, there's no ES and there's a low quantity bar? What's up with that? I mean has ANYONE on here ordered it with flex pay? As someone said, that's like a new PF everymonth. Insane.
