Mine was broken the same way. But I bought mine direct from SS, & it was quickly replaced. You may have to go through SecrectCompass for the replacement.
They are bulbs inside so a bit more fragile then the rest of it. Shipping services are less careful then you think. Often this stuff goes on conveyer belts which literally just drop boxes onto another, and the others sometimes are not to careful with them either. Shipping services require that they can withstand a drop as well, sometimes as much as a 5ft drop ;p
Yikes! Well my red LEDs are here so I'm heading to get super glue. I may finish tonight so I'm very excited but I'm hoping it looks as good as it should.
Ok so I only did the sides and ceiling so far. It took far longer than I expected to do it mixed in with other things I had to do. I realize that if I did this over again I would plan a bit better. Not because the plan was bad but because the limitation on the LEDs, the shelf, the wood all kind of came unexpectedly one at s time.
With that said I am still overly happy so far. Once I'm done with many projects I may do a stand alone for it very similar but with a few tweaks.
I put white laminated shelves against the 3 sides to get a similar effect you'll see once it's placed in the PAX. The sides don't reach to the tops and the top piece is laying on top so the reflection is muted but overall it's shows the look. Tomorrow I'll do the back and get this thing in the shelf I hope. Only obstacle left is getting the wiring tucked as it goes in. Another one of those tweaks yet not an issue as is.
So here it is and note the visibility of the LEDs was fixed so in the last photo you don't see them. The cap should hide the front end lights as it is designed to do as well as look like a door. That will be made last.
I just recently opened my Vader PF, and the cover (and screw) for the belt battery compartment were missing. Is there some place in the box that I should be looking for that? I would assume that it would've been attached to the actual compartment.
So I'll admit I made some mistakes with a few things and had to lift and take it out and re-route wiring a bit, but overall I'm pretty happy with it. I can now make the front cap or will make it after I finalize the back panel and plug system. These little converters take up 3 spots on a plug station. Unfortunately unlike others that have the power cover tee and then a long plug that takes up one slot these are little adapters so they take up room so I gotta get a plug system that can turn. Biggest pain.
So there is no yellow lighting for anyone not familiar with how red LEDs seem to look in pix. I fell for it looking at a HT Kylo Ren and asked if it was ruined. Only $100 like new woot.
I did the best I could with the pix so enjoy. I added a screw on either side of the shelf to keep it from bowing since I cut the back and to sleep better at night.
I love it but I'm wondering if I should of used white lights instead. Don't get me wrong the red is Vader but white would have been nice too. Just not enough room to do white without some serious planning and lots and lots of wiring.
Well custom led strips would solve it but finding a white or red on one wire is not just available. I noticed if I turned on all the RGB it sort of looked white behind the panels and the seller said the bigger 5050 size which is what the reds are would appear more white if all turned on but I just went red.
I am starting on the cap now and will move on to my other shelves but I'll be designing a stand alone for this later I think.
I actually bought those first but the red LEDs were only 1 every third light and honestly blue and green is not something I would use for this. I'll be using them for something else. I'm putting blue over my chess table and green over my speeder bike but I'll be putting in plants and a background. That should look badass.
I just picked up 2 brand new battle droids to flans the sides of my 1/6 emporer hologram. Not planned but they were cheap.
Still need a Gammorean but I'm not spending $200 now. I still have my speeder bike chase to put together. I have the sideshow Jedi Luke, Senator Leia w/Boush head both in Hasbroh clothes but it's the only choice but it looks good and of course my 2nd SS scout and 3 Hasbro bikes getting repainted like SS. Having one helps for reference. Putting them in a flat board about 3x2 maybe 4x2 I have all the ferns and logs. I want Luke in mid jump onto the scout. It's been on hold since PF walked into my life lol
