It being Vader bumps it up a bit definitely but I think PFs are headed towards the $500 mark.

Then what the hell is stopping people from moving on to XM? Better quality, lower ES, better QC... I mean yea sure, you guys abroad would pay a heck load of money for shipping compared to SSC (Marked difference for the US guys and gals) but if I were a hardcore statue collector, which I'm not, that sure as hell wouldn't stop me.

That being said, if PFs continue to stay at the $500 range for good, I might stop collecting from this line altogether. Which would be a shame since I just started and it was honestly starting to get kinda fun.

Well for one, I like mixed media. Two, XM has 10 products available to purchase from 1 franchise. Sideshow has a couple hundred and from dozens of different franchises. They have for sale, at the moment, nothing but comic characters. I only collect movie memorabilia. I would think you understand this, but you posted about XM in a thread about a Darth Vader statue. Care to point me to their Star Wars section on their website? Or the Alien section? Or the DC section?

I'm thinking the $500 price is mainly just because its Vader and SS thinks they can get that for him. And they can from some, but not from as many as they are thinking they could while cutting corners on the light up features. I think tomorrow SS will realize they will have to add the lightup feature by how many people pass on this. PFs are probably headed towards $500 but I think it will be a couple of years before it gets there for all characters.

But as far as XM goes, their pieces are still going for quite a bit more than SS's standard PF prices as of right now (at least they are here in the U.S.). They are all fully sculpted and I prefer mixed media, and as of now they are only selling Marvel stuff. I mainly collect DC and SW stuff. Competition would be great for us customers but as of now SS has all of rights locked up for the quarter scale mixed media pieces from those 2 licenses.

Quoted for great justice.

I'll be patiently waiting on the fence to see if they give us a complete light-up feature. A $500 26" tall Vader that doesn't have the full compliment of lights would be weak sauce in my book, especially considering their previous offering many years ago had it.

If they really wanted to blow our socks off, they'd light up those stairs in the base too (fat chance, I'm sure)!

That CM is godlike.
