Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Much like the Avengers, I think the element that puts me off these movies is constantly hearing about it on social media and around here. On top of that, it just doesn't interest me and I don't care about the drug dealer looking Joker.

And I cannot stand Will Smith. Liked him the 90s, but I wish he would just go away.

As for BvS, that trailer was weak and Affleck doesn't look the part at all to me.

If hearing about things on social media puts you off then you must be pretty much put off by everything LOL. I'm not trying to be insulting at all, but what doesn't get driven into the ground on social media these days?

Could just not view social media sites....

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I'm happy when ALL the studios are firing with all their cylinders.

I want a great MCU, a great Deadpool, a great X-Men, a great Spiderman, a great JL.

I want great standalone movies AND great shared universe movies.

Marvel v DC is silly, both have enough incredible characters to go around.

I just wish that WB/DC fans would lighten up a bit. :lol

:goodpost: :lecture +1

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to jye4ever again.

It´s great, it looks like TDK. Check my comparison:

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

The more I watch this trailer, the more I prefer it to the others we've seen (officially, anyway -- excluding bootlegs). BvS looks too overblown and self-aware for its own good. That and I absolutely cannot stand Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. I was on-board with him at first, but that cracking voice of his just undermines the character's famed influence.

Suicide Squad is definitely dramatic, definitely takes itself seriously, but... still somehow manages to feel less like an underground comic. This looks darker than anything we've seen so far, BvS included, but it seems less grand. If that makes any sense. Coming around to the Joker as well. He has me intrigued and I guess, given the aesthetic of the film, the character design works. In a more traditional universe though, the tats and grills would look so out of place. Wonder if we'll get a redesign in future movies or if this is the aesthetic they'll maintain throughout the DCU.

Aren't most of these bad guys batman villains? Makes sense if he's been around for 15 years.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

This trailer was much better than the Batman V Superman trailer.

I liked the BvS trailer more. Both are good though. But there's something about seeing Batman and Superman together (fighting each other/fighting side by side).. no other superhero combo can top that IMO.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

SS is more exciting because it's full of characters we've never seen adapted on the silver screen before.
Batman was done to death at this point and Superman had two solid films.

And there it is.

I look forward to all the figures. I love how this will bring the lesser villains in it to the public's eye and deservedly so.

That's one the most and least anticipated things about all these movies for me: I said that I was going to "really cut back" on my figure purchases. yeah, right.

:lol

I wouldn't miss the Croc in 1/6, that's for sure.

And being a movie about bad guys, it beat Sinister Six to the punch.

Perhaps they have to infiltrate a tattoo parlour?

Or he covers up the tatts with white make up when he 'matures'?

Clutching. And hopeful. And desperate.

Trailer was great. Bats on the lambo roof was amazing.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I find this sooo much more interesting than the cheesefest that is Batman v Hopeman.
I wish we were getting this and Afflecks The Batman instead.
