Hunh, Affleck looks like one of the best Batmans (and Wayne) ever.

If hearing about things on social media puts you off then you must be pretty much put off by everything LOL. I'm not trying to be insulting at all, but what doesn't get driven into the ground on social media these days?

Could just not view social media sites....

The more I watch this trailer, the more I prefer it to the others we've seen (officially, anyway -- excluding bootlegs). BvS looks too overblown and self-aware for its own good. That and I absolutely cannot stand Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. I was on-board with him at first, but that cracking voice of his just undermines the character's famed influence.

Suicide Squad is definitely dramatic, definitely takes itself seriously, but... still somehow manages to feel less like an underground comic. This looks darker than anything we've seen so far, BvS included, but it seems less grand. If that makes any sense. Coming around to the Joker as well. He has me intrigued and I guess, given the aesthetic of the film, the character design works. In a more traditional universe though, the tats and grills would look so out of place. Wonder if we'll get a redesign in future movies or if this is the aesthetic they'll maintain throughout the DCU.

Same here I'm more excited about this than BvS

SS is more exciting because it's full of characters we've never seen adapted on the silver screen before.
Batman was done to death at this point and Superman had two solid films.

I guess for me, the difference is, I don't give a **** about ANY of the characters in SS.

Still interested in seeing it. But at its heart, other than Smith, it's b-list actors playing b-list villains.

Joker isn't the star of that film. That's why I didn't list him or Jared Leto. And Harley is a b-list villain. She's Joker's sidekick. You'll never see a film with Batman vs. JUST Harley Quinn. Never.

No, but Harley is so popular that, provided this movie does well enough, I could see a stand alone Harley movie.

And I am looking forward to a Hot Toys Harley from this movie. I love the classic outfit, but the Sideshow figure is laughable in my opinion.

Saw the trailer, meh. The build up to this film will probably annoy me more than any of the Avengers.

Pretty much the only comment here I agree with and it has nothing to do with social media sites.
The trailer just did not impress me at all, but who knows? It might be good. Bleh.

Like others,I wish they took a different approach to the look of the joker, maybe something closer to sideshows first pf statue. It should be obvious who the character is and with him, it's not. I have nothing against the casting, but he sounded a little too much like Heath as well. I hope it's not as apparent in the movie.

I get the Ledger Joker comparison but lets see how this Joker is being written.

Ledger Joker was all about his social experiment agenda using his chaos theory ideology and creating a new form of criminal that wasn't just about making a profit.

Leto's Joker will have a different set of goals, maybe more focussed on Batman than dishing out lessons on society and other mobsters, lets see.

Ledger's Joker would've been a big fan of Ian Malcolm.

Outside of "Agent of Chaos" side, Ledger's performance wasn't really new. He used a little bit of everything that was done before him and a little bit of something fresh. Yes, he did an awesome job for sure, but his take on the character wasn't incredibly unique to justify "this Joker is like Ledger" nonsense I keep hearing everywhere since 2008.

Time has changed my opinion of the film and him drastically. There wasn't anything "Joker" about him. He was just a nut job in face paint. Great performance, but as the Joker? Meh.

I don't think one person in this thread said this Joker is too much like Ledger's, his voice sounds a lot like Ledger's Joker.

Based on that tiny bit from the trailer I'm not getting a Ledger vibe at from, this seems like a totally new Joker to me.

Mmm, I loved it actually. I'm not at all against fresh takes on beloved characters and thought this one was really great.
Just wish his and Bale's performances (and the script, lol) were grounded a little bit more, their sillyness just didn't fit with the overall realistic tone of TDK.
