Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I don't think Robrocop was badly written per say, as it was just playing generic and boring :lol it was so vanilla to not hurt the original at all, but at the same time that makes not care whether it gets a sequel, I'd like to see Dredd 2 instead, but that goes without saying.

One of these guys played Kyle Reese in Terminator Genisys. This same picture has a guy who would have been a far better choice (even though he's a bit on the tall side judging by this pic)

Rick Baker transforms his daughter into the Joker, looks more Joker than the Joker.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

All of those Jokers, but especially the New 52 is awesome! That just proves they really just need to get Rick Baker involved in these movies and bring some of these looks to life. :drool

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

That makeup really makes me think they could've brought Ledger Joker back, especially for a small role like the one he was supposed to play in Rises.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Gotta say, I hate the New 52 Joker cosplays. No matter how hard they try, it always looks fake as ****. Even the Baker one, and that dude's a pro. The Killing Joke, Ledger, and Man who Laughs all look infinitely better than the 52 Joker, and I think what it all comes down to is that the removed face thing just doesn't translate.

What role was that? I don't think there was a role for him in Rises. Maybe before he died, Nolan had some ideas, but I don't think there was a script or anything planned. He always says he works on one film at a time.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I don't remember where I read this, but he was supposed to fill Crane's role, being the crazy judge in Bane's court.

Could be bogus though.

It's the opposite for me, Killing Joke goes to the bottom, I guess cause it's one of those vanilla versions of the Joker that it's so easy to pull off, that it ends up looking like generic cosplay every time.

I those pics above, New 52 would be #2 for me, while Ledger would be #1.

I've heard the Crane role rumor too, but I've also heard the Joker was still going to be a major character in Rises. I mean really, they release everyone at Blackgate and you think the Joker wouldn't want to get in on what's going on? I think we ended up with a vastly different, and ultimately inferior, film than the one originally planned when Heath was still alive. In the novelization, they at least mention that the Joker is the sole inmate at Arkham and even Bane wasn't stupid enough to let him out. I really wish that mention of him would have made it into the film, because in the end it was like they tried too hard to forget the Joker even happened. Talk about Two-face constantly but not a peep about the Joker. I always felt that lack of recognition was spitting at Ledger's work rather than trying to be respectful of his passing. I mean just about every villain in the franchise at that point got a mention besides him.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Well, he wasn't mentioned in the film, but his actions in the TDK still had an effect on Bruce and Gordon eight years later, with Bruce not being able to move on from Rachael's death and Gordon still struggling with his lies about Harvey Dent, so despite the fact they don't say the Joker's name, he still casts a shadow over the characters and the story. Let's not forget that Two- Face was created by the Joker. Also, his predictions came true since Batman was considered a criminal after all his effort to do the right thing. His prediction about "civilized" people "eating each other" is also proven true in TDKR. Gotham falls into chaos in the wake of Bane's 'liberation'/takeover, and the citizens were "eating each other," by way of homes being looted and the Scarecrow's court "system." I thought there was still a connection to TDK and The Joker, but I think a cameo would have been nice too.

Since he tried to have a whole boatload of prisoners all blown up in TDK, I don't think he would have lasted long in prison......
