Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

A bit more from Vanity Fair:

"Suicide Squad is bad. Not fun bad. Not redeemable bad. Not the kind of bad that is the unfortunate result of artists honorably striving for something ambitious and falling short. Suicide Squad is just bad. It’s ugly and boring, a toxic combination that means the film’s highly fetishized violence doesn’t even have the exciting tingle of the wicked or the taboo. (Oh, how the movie wants to be both of those things.) It’s simply a dull chore steeped in flaccid machismo, a shapeless, poorly edited trudge that adds some mildly appalling sexism and even a soupçon of racism to its abundant, hideously timed gun worship. But, perhaps worst of all, Suicide Squad is ultimately too shoddy and forgettable to even register as revolting. At least revolting would have been something."

It does sound like all the leaks though... But yeah, it's far too harsh, there's no way it's worse than F4. Worse than BvS yes, because hidden underneath BvS was a great movie, but there's no chance Fant4stic is a better movie.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Why see it?
Because it might be interesting.
Because i liked MOS and BVS and wonder how they are building that world.
But yeah im not overly hyped or exited.
And i do like some of Ayer´s flicks.
The preview screenings are only in 3D tonight :)
Oh and also we have in my country an unlimited movie card, you pay 25 usd a month and yu can see all the movies yu want :)

Fair enough. :lol

Mr Sunday Movies has a non-spoiler review up on youtube.

This gives me hope as well as I tend to agree with Mr. Sunday Movies on his opinion of movies. I couldn't help but laugh when he got to talking about Captain Boomerang.:lol

I guess the "Marvel be paying dem critics" thing is gonna catch fire once again. That, or this goes deeper than anybody knows. They got people everywhere. This goes up, way up...

What about Letoker?

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I wasn't really hyped, I just wanted this out of the way. I dunno...the marketing and all he figures seem 'vulgar' to me for lack of a better word. It feels dirty. I want it gone so I can focus on Rogue One.

What about Letoker?

"Speaking of disappointed (or, at least, glumly surprised): Harley’s boyfriend, who’s been so prominently featured in the marketing for the film, hardly makes an impression at all. All that talk about Jared Leto going super-Method to play the Joker, tormenting his castmates and whatnot, has led only to a lukewarm display of villainy that, it turns out, teeters on the line between small supporting role and outright cameo. After all that, Leto’s Joker is barely in the damn movie, and when he is, he’s entirely underwhelming."

This is the first time The Joker doesn't steal a movie and fails as a villain :(

You know there's something wrong when they can't even get Joker right. ****!

Well, I guess is up to Affleck now. Maybe he'll make Joker shine again and give fans a great film.

To be fair, Joker is a tricky character to get right. The best, IMO, version, is the one where yes, he's a psychopathic ****, but he's got class, elegance and is somewhat old-fashioned. What I hate, are versions like the Nu52 one, or Azzarello's.

Let's hope Batfleck punches him so hard, his grills and tatoos fly off...

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Simple - never trust RT's. Ghostbusters has 73%, make of that what you will...

There's only a two critics I trust and they are youtube critics, Mr Sunday Movies and Jeremy Jahns. The world would be a better place without the pretentious magazine movie critics etc. :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

I warned some of you not to get hyped and lower your expectations a while back.
