Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

He was ok.
He had not much to do really.
He dont get to be really really naughty.
His lovestory with Harley is... Weirdly treated, as it very "first degree".
Like ohhh thats so moving... Seriously....
Dunno the comics that well, to me it missed the craziness.
Rolling eyes and laughing dont scare you really.
I hate comparing but ledger felt really insane anything could happen.
But as i said he doesnt have much to do here.
Basically all the characters are way too nice.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Yep. There was no indication from the Jurassic World trailers that the iconic T-Rex would be back and her surprise entry into the final fight brought the house down. WW should have been the "T-Rex" of BvS.

I think WW makes sense, they wanted to get the female crowd by marketing her.

...but ****ing Doomsday should never have been shown off or talked about at all. Can't believe they put him in the trailer.

Disney is at it again, paying reviewers to make up bad reviews, I see.

You know what I'm actually starting to believe that conspiracy :rotfl I mean c'mon, suicide squad can't be as bad as the critics are making it out to be :lol Seeing the movie today so I'll be sure to post my own thoughts about the flick here.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Oh no....

Well, the trailer looks like a mess too. This project seemed like a real head-scratcher to me from the beginning. Especially for a studio to "get it".

I was not expecting rob zombies THE DEVILS REJECTS kind of bad guys.
But seriously between dead shot daughter, harley sweet cute love story, and el diablo saying im not losing my second family out of the blue.
I wanted to cuddle with them.

Well its not bad.
But its not good.
I didnt read the reviews but if they start saying **** like its as bad as the fantastique four they are clearly lying.
Variety is owned by Disney so dont be surprised if they are very vocal lol
And yeah Disney is at it to crush the competition.
Its no conspiracy its just strategic, marketing and all.

Well, you've been one of the most supportive of this movie so I look forward to your point of view.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

was he given special privileges like cutting in line or backstage access?

Knah, this was right after watchmen (2010 I believe). pretty sure he just didn't wanna be bugged, really chill dude though, talked to me about supernatural for a minute.

I would've loved that! :lol

it was pretty awesome, he seemed to enjoy the ride but man it would have been a challenge drunk. have you rode the simpsons?

I just can't seem to get hyped for this and I should be. I'm like....meh about the whole thing.

:dunno

might be a good thing! that's how I was for BvS, and ended up loving it. we all know over hyped movies can be a problem around these boards. :lol

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

$127,337,369 isn't a lot in terms for movie earnings. That's why I said 'almost made it' and not 'very close'. It did almost make it to 1 bil. It was about 87% of the way there.

Let's say all your numbers are 100% accurate, an excess of 300 million is all that matters to WB. That's just for the film, not taking into account the profit they made off of home media & licensing fees for toys, shirts, etc.

Why are you talking about JL? WB already had the money to finance that film. They aren't living paycheck to paycheck with their films' profits to finance their future films. So BvS's profits really doesn't have anything to do with JL.

But really at the end of it all...none of what you said has anything to do with the original point of my comment. These movies are profitable. VERY profitable. They're not limping across the finish line (Ghostbusters) by any stretch of the imagination. That's why I said I don't understand all the doom and gloom surrounding the future of DC films being made. They're making more than enough money for them to continue to be produced.

I didn't post that to start a debate. But how can you say $127 million is not a lot of money for a movie? Many movies don't even make that as a total gross revenue. At say a $15 ticket price, 8.5 million more people would've had to go see BvS to surpass $1 billion. And as far as WB/DC being happy, they need to put on a front for the public. They're not gonna publicly announce they are unhappy, dissatisfied, and realized they made a mistake. Did we not learn from Sony?? ASM2 made $709 million. So if you say $127 mil is not a lot (close to difference in total box office between BvS & ASM2), why did they throw in the towel? Sony said they were happy with ASM2 and were still going ahead with their Sinister Six spin offs.....We know how that turned out.

WB/DC bragged how this would be the 2nd coming of Comic movies, surpassing their competition (Marvel) and reign supreme. They had a lot of trash talk, but brought their C game. I'm sure they were embarrassed. Other than Spider-Man, the movie featured 3 of the most iconic heroes the world over, yet won very few fans over. That's a big loss. They wanted a big payday to finance their whole movie universe. That's not what they ended up with. They're not gonna tuck their tale between their legs just yet, but don't think BvS' mediocre profits isn't impacting their future decision making.
