I still don't get the whole point of only collecting "limited" stuff. Is it so you can say to everyone else "na na na na, I have one and you don't"?

Not really. Me personally I don't throw it in other people's faces. It's just nice knowing it's rare. For me it makes owning something like that much more special.

There's people that refuse to order because they know the es will be large.

I always find the numbers thing to be funny.

If it's an Open Edition then people complain

If it's a High ES number then people complain

If it's a low ES number then people complain.

SSC really can't seem to win no matter what they do as far as ES go.

Did you get yourself the Ex Droids my man???

I remember hearing someone say they would prefer in general for statues if the ex was low and they missed out and had to pay double on ebay for one.

It's funny that there's people that have the money and love the lsfs but will never buy them because they're open edition.

I think SS shot themselves in the foot by making such a high ES in the DC line. There's just no rush to buy Supes or Bats. It would've have been a smarter business plan to do several different Bats and Supes PFs with a much smaller ES for each. Then there would have been an urgency to buy. A better plan would be to keep releasing different Bats and Supes PFs and then there would be more urgency to buy them. I'm close to cancelling my Ex Supes. It just doesn't feel as special to me to own these now that SS is heading to open ES and super high ES. Plus I REALLY hate the Ex. Can probably pick the Reg up on ebay for much cheaper one day after the dust settles. To each their own but I just don't feel the urgency to "order now" like I did old SS pieces. And LMAO at the people that think "this ES is gonna be HUGE on the Ex!!!" Yeah, that's why the Batman Reg is still in stock after all this time. SS overdid it.

Nope. Wanted the Reg anyways due to the Base and I think R2 looks much better dirty. EX 3PO does look great though.

I thin the thing that sort of Sucked about the low ES on the Droids is that there was not heads up that they were going up for pre order that day. People that really wanted them had no idea that they were went up for sale.

My God you are NOW REPEATING yourself not only in the same post, but within consecutive sentences:gah::gah::wink1:..

You may be right about some of the Ex issues, but remember the Batman Ex has been sold out for almost a year now, and while the Reg may still be available I am sure it has several thousand orders in. After all Both the Regular and Ex Joker are BOTH SOLD OUT, and have been for awhile. When the in hand pics of Batman start showing up he will probably sell very very well.

Yeah, it does make me laugh because it is like you said people complain no matter what SSC does. That was a super low ES and everyone freaked... Can win for losing really.

I hope so. :dunno I'd really like SS to go back to how the way things were but doubt that will happen. Oh well. Yeah, they blew it with the Supes Ex unfortunately. Although I know you like it which is cool. I'm REALLY glad a Reeve sculpt is in the pipeline. That might be a grail if they don't overkill it. Then they could do another Supes and another, etc. Kind of like DC Collectibles but of a much higher quality that we expect from SS. Maybe they will learn something from this. Another problem they have is all the Poison Ivy buyers remorse. They might be stuck with a lot of stock for a while. You could be right that Bats may sell more with more pics being released but at $400 a pop the price will come down. Reason will be people will lose jobs, have to move, cost of having children etc. Anyway, all good. Just my two cents. :)

I'm not worried to much about ES or whether I have an EX or reg (with the exception of perhaps a piece where I see a noticeable difference). I enjoy the collecting. If there is a character I really like, yes, I'd like the exclusivity of having a limited edition piece. It just makes t a little more special and I'd feel a little more enthused about the purchase.

What makes this a hobby is the general enthusiasm. I get excited about characters because I enjoy the characters. I read the comics. I grew up around these characters. I enjoy chatting about them here. i enjoy having a room that i can sit with all my collectibles and let the nostalgia set in. I still get as excited about a new piece today as i did about my$8 star wars hasbro figs as a child.

Without that its not really a hobby - I'd just be some guy buying stuff. So is the ES or difference between reg and EX important? Not in the grand scheme of things, but it all depends on how much enthusiasm you have for a piece. What it means to you when you open it and the general need you have to fulfill every time you look at it in your collection.

I have SO MUCH ENTHUSIASM for this Superman PF it is crazy... It is amazing how good this looks. I will probably zone right out when I first get it, I might even be reminded to eat. Did you order the Ex Mr. Nice???

I do love this piece MM. Honestly, you are aloud to feel the way you do. However, I do think that it may be time for some of the "Ex sucks" talk to be limited to the Ex thread. I am not say the discussion isn't worth having, BUT as I was once told when I was mistakenly hammering on the GL PF people want to be happy with their purchase, and there is no need to remind them over and over again about something that they might be uncertain about. There is a separate thread for that after all.

Yes. I'm not 100% sold on it yet. But I have two fears.

The first, I received my gamorrean guard mythos statue this week and I thought the COH looked ridiculous when I saw the early pictures. I couldn't have been more wrong. I panned that thing in the forums but when I finally received it and put the head on I ate my words.

The second concern was the possibility that SS might update the EX during production. The feedback on my Scorpion piece was so strong that the production actually changed and they not only completely revised the COH but also added a third head to the EX.

So yes, I bit the line in hopes that when its out the box I again eat my words. As much as I initially didn't care for the look, I'm trying to picture the entire statue with the EX and it may work. If you just look close at the eyes it looks a little strange, but as an entire piece it may come together nicely.

This piece is to important and SS can't screw it up.

I've been waiting for this PF since I first laid eyes on it! I wanted it more than any other PF produced or in production. Even the week leading up to Pre-order was torture!

Just have faith Dude.... Remember you aren't going to be viewing this statue from 1 inch away with a magnifine glass. At least not all the time:wink1:, and it just takes one good viewing angle. This shot looks good to me..
