Ya know, perhaps it's because this is the first time I have found myself on the side of wanting a piece changed. But I don't see where posters have been all that disrespectful of each other. Not counting the time Spidey got dumped on for NO reason at all.
I mean there has been a lot of making fun of the flame eyes and a few EX Sucks. But I don't see where things have turned into a flame war or anything. Go check out the Hulk vs Superman thread to see some disrespectful behavior (I may have been a part of that
).
I think this has turned into the typical "You can't read tone" When someone comes out with an attack on the EX head, it is not an attack on those who like it (again not counting whatever the hell happened with Spidey) In fact I have seen a few more personal insults passed at the hatters. Grow Up, child like, temper tantrums, and more then one snide remark. Now perhaps it's because I am on the side of the "do not Like" members that the tone does not seem that bad and perhaps I am misreading the tone of some of the comments by the "do Like" members. Either way, we should try and remember that these are just statues, expensive ones yes, but still just statues.
Now don't get me wrong. I am not a fan of "EX sucks" type statements because I like a well thought out debate. And it is true that this argument has gone about as far as it can go. But I don't see why people who don't like it should stop posting their concerns and those who do can keep posting their praises. Where is the fun in that?
I would feel different if the piece was already out and we all had it. I mean there would be some pages of debate but I think people know what they get. I don't remember too often seeing arguments between owners of the same piece.
What I hate is when people who don't like a piece don't buy it and then go on to complain and tell everyone how much it sucks and won't let it go for 20 pages.
But this is open game as it has not been released yet. People who are complaining are just hoping for a change. Hopefully they have gone a bit farther and contacted SSC with a polite message about their concerns.
As far as the poll I made. I was did not create that to bash o the EX head. I just had been reading in this thread about the "vocal few who don't like it" and "it seems most are overall happy with the EX" I felt from reading the post that both of those statements were off. So I created the poll to see what the overall feeling was about the EX.
But as I said this is strange to me as this is the first time I have been on this side of the debate. Usually if I don't like something I just state my opinion and move on. And if I don't like an EX I am getting (ROTLA hatless Indy) I just accept the fact and leave it in the box.
But this Superman EX is so great except for the flame eyes IMO. Judging from the photos I like it better then the Reg head (which is saying a lot). Hell, there are even those that like the EX flames that have said it would look better without the flame eyes.
Now if anyone feels I was disrespectful towards them then I am sorry (Spidey I know you don't
). But I think I have been civil.
