Oh, I've only used gimp twice so I'm not sure how you'd reduce it there.

I was browsing the shops yesterday and saw a Superman comic. First of all they wanted $6.50 for it!! F@CK OFF!! I'll stick to ordering graphic novels through amazon thanks!

Anyways I thought I'd have a flick through. So Superman now wears a t-shirt with the S emblem a pair of slacks, belt, pair of hiking boots and his cape. I'm sorry but WTF. I liked my comics being fantastic and over the top that's why I fell in love with them in the first place.

They may aswell get rid of the cape and stick a red napkin out the front his t-shirt with the S emblem on it.

What is this (what seems to be) dire need to ground all SUPERHERO"S. I really don't understand it at all or maybe I just don't want to.

If I am not mistaken that is the New52 Action Comics, and that is Morrison. I hate it!!! And the guy has been a **** to the likes of George Perez.., totally the reason why Perez left Superman which was far better written when Perez was on it then Action Comics

I'll be honest I don't know who the artist was. I have always just opened up the book and if I like the art then happy days for me. I know a few artists but am certainly not knowledgable for sure. The art was average at best by my meager standards.

I was surprised at how short it seemed too. The other thing that grabbed my attention was the lack of action. It seemed like a whole lot of drama and no escapism for the reader whatsoever (this is my opionion of course and if you enjoy it that is awesome)

I have not bought comics for years due to cost but WOW little story and lots of adds. It must take an eternity to get through a good story arc these days. I'm surprised they sell as you can save a boat load on the collected editions with a nice hardcover over these.

Grant Morrison is the writer ... I think to lazy to loom it up right now... But yeah Acrion was boring as all hell.... Perezz's Superman and Lee's Justice League were more actioned packed. I enjoyed them MUCH more.

Right Spidey my error. Yeah as soon as I have some spare dollars I want to give Justice League a go. At the very least the art looks like win so that's a start.

You know, I feel the same way about Morrison. I just can't seem to follow his style for some reason. Not my cup of tea.

I'm pretty sure Lee left JL and its now being drawn by Ivan Reis, who still has a pretty awesome style. He was the artist for a lot of the Blackest Night Stuff and on Aquaman and Green Lantern for the New 52.

Absolute correct, Lee is now drawing Superman, but Reis is one my fav artists at DC

He did a couple of Avengers books back in the early 2000's, can't remember the numbers but you could always check those out. I think he's locked up exclusive right now though.

thanks....I see he did a couple of issues with Johns in 2003
