Even now I think he'll complement Batman well, Superman is just not that essential for me like Batman. Just asking myself if I want to drop $400 + for something that I may not really want later down the road. BUT once in hand, that may change. Like I said, my enthusiasm is waning.

I agree not as essential as Bats. These long waits are tough. My excitement levels are often like a rollercoaster. Somedays I say to myself this will be epic! Others I just say meh.....

The possible "cool" changes sounds interesting, I'm so on the fence with this one it could sway me one way or the other.
My enthusiasm is gone and though I like Superman, he's not Batman.

I want Sups interpretation in my collection. He doesn't have to look better than Bats just compliment him well.

I'm thinking the cool changes are now that the worms come out sideways instead of straight up. Cool.

Might even add some to his fingers.

Epic is just not a word that comes to mind when I look at this Superman statue. Never has. It's just not......well.... Epic Enough.

Batman - Epic pose, Epic base, epic cape. Mean and Menacing.

Reg Head Superman- - Somewhat average pose, Boring a$$ base, OK cape. Full of Hope and Dreams

When I think Epic I think Planet Hulk PF, Batman PF, Star Wars Mythos line, Spider Man Comiquette, Hulk Comiquette, Punisher Comiquette, Statues were the sculpt flows from head to toe.

Superman is a nice looking statue. Just not at that next level IMO.


Ex Head with just regular eyes or Red eyes would have made the pose much more EPIC. The Reg head just does not have IMO what I call staying power. It's well done and well sculpted but it just makes the overall look of the statue boring.

The Ex head with him looking down makes him and his pose look much more powerful. Much more...... Superman. It flows much better IMO.

When the new pics from SDCC came out it did not excite me at all. It looks nice. But nothing jaws dropping. Even though I am not a fan of the EX head I wish they displayed him with that instead. Perhaps that would have go the juices flowing.

I hope this all changes when I have him in hand.

I just think Superman should be better then just a complement to Batman. As is Batman will look great on his own. Superman almost needs Batman to help bring him up to the next level.

.... I am kidding m8... I admit the delays on Batman, and the knowledge this will most likely be delayed have sapped my enthusiasm as well... I think it will ramp up again and we can have another 1000 before release drive...

Word of these changes makes me excited and nervous to say it I think the Ex head AND the base MAY be getting a light up feature. The whole statue screams to have a similar light up base to GL, and the eyes being clears resign looking would definetly allow light to pass through alla say Arthas. I know light up features are just one more thing that can go wrong, but the light up on GL looks AMAZING. So

I don't know what any good this might do anyone. But I was talking to Sideshow CS today, getting things squared away for another pre-order of mine, and I asked him/her about the Batman logo not being sculpted anymore and if Superman's would be changed as well. He/She said that they couldn't confirm Superman's being changed (so it hasn't happened yet I suppose), but that other "cool" alterations are being made to him that couldn't be disclosed.

I guess this means Superman will be seeing more changes done to him than just a sculpted logo change the next time we see a production model on display. I'm guessing either light up eyes or a light up base, cuz there's nothing else that can be considered "a cool alteration" that would just be a resculpt on the statue, imo

Again, I don't know what that means to anyone here, or if other users were told the same vague thing as I was, so if all this post is doing is spouting nonsense I apologize.

Any news will be interesting to me and hopefully will increase my enthusiasm again. I already POed the EX and I really hope that "cool" means light up eyes and base. I hope I'm not asking for too much.

I wouldn't be against some light up features. It really worked for GL so it may work for supes.

Actually this is the first time I have lost my enthusiasm for a piece I have had on Pre Order.

But I am willing to stick it out because I think this could be a piece that really pops when you see it in hand. Especially with those colors.

Well I am an over enthusiastic sort of guy. Honestly, I guess part of my issue is I can see the "end" so to speak. I will not be collecting a whole heck of a lot, if anything, past my current list of POes. I know most don't believe me when I say it, but as Freaky as I am, with price being what they are I won't be collecting for very long.
