That's prolly true, but there are cheap LEDs too and there's still a risk of them burning out. I also don't think bad wiring will last 100,000 hours either.
I was really interested in buying the Project Triforce Batarang, and that thing uses a lot of lights. So I asked those guys via FB, what if the lights go bad after displaying it for a while? What if it can't hold a charge? How do does it get fixed? Is there a manual or is it able to be taken apart in order to get to the parts that need to be swapped out?
I also mentioned to them that for something that costs $750, I would assume that there would be a manual to come with it as the lights are it's main attraction, besides the rest of the statue. I also asked if there were some sort of instructions as a means to swap out an LED or to know which one to use as a replacement. They replied and said there was nothing like that, and if there was a problem with it, to contact their handy man. They never mentioned that they'd fix it either.
I immediately slammed the brakes on that pre-order. From hearing about SS's terrible QC issues (since Triforce is affiliated with SS), and some issues coming with the Riddler Trophy, I just didn't wanna risk it.
