The brown shipper really doesn't affect anything
I always prefer a statue with the shipper. Means it was probably better taken care of, will protect the art box in storage, and if you ever have to ship it yourself no need to buy/make a new box for it. Not a big deal, but always seems like something is missing if I don't have the correct shipper box too.

I always prefer shipper. Ads value for me.

If the shipper box wasn't part of the collectible figure, then why would collectors pay extra for double-boxing from SS to protect it. Alter-ego comics and Big bad toy store both give you that added bonus when you buy from them for no extra charge. The whole idea is to keep the shipper box in excellent pristine condition for future investment value to go with the art box. So duh hello, hahahaha. I love this site.

The idea of double boxing is not to protect the shipper, but to add an extra level of cushion for the statue inside especially if it's shipping over seas.

I'm actually talking about the Hot Toys shipper boxes. The big bulky PF boxes I understand that yes SS will double box those when shipping overseas to yes protect the actual statue. SS has no choice to do that cause those flimsy PF shipper boxes would arrive all torn up and the statue probably cracked and in pieces.

Really...hot toys shipper boxes are considered part of the collectible?

Shipper boxes are nice but overtime they stack up, it's preferred when purchasing figures buyers appreciate a well packaged figure. But it adds or subtracts no value to a collectible. It's just a pain to find a box to fit and ship certain collectibles. The actual box on the other hand should be kept and in good shape because of the beautiful artwork sometimes. Just my two cents!

I don't know but some of these guys who collect these HT figures are willing to pay an extra $10 pack-out cause the shipper box means something to them. Personally, I don't do that cause the HT shipper is sturdy enough and have never received a damaged art box/figure. What I do so I don't stack up these shipper boxes in my closets I collapse the boxes and put them in my garage.

Sure, because the shipper box contains the name and upc identifying number of the figure. If It was just a plain ole box with no writing on it, I then I would say it adds no value 1 way or the other.

SSC PF shipper boxes have that as well, aslo they have the edition number but all that information is also on the art box, so it's redundant. I keep all my boxes though, not because I think they're worth anything but for when/if I move. It's a lot easier to pack all that up in it's original boxes and make sure it arrives at it's new destination in good condition than to try and figure a new boxing method out.

I could never understand why anyone would toss a cardboard shipper and keep the art boxes. It's not like they take up that much more space (if you store the art boxes in the shippers) and if you ever decide to sell, you don't have to go hunting for a cardboard box to ship your pieces.

Well Generally speaking, if I thought I was in a house I would die in, and I was never ever gonna move.(Like old on the porch with a shotgun never gonna move) then I'd probably toss quite a few Boxes as long as I had proper display shelves. However, since that isn't the case I keep all the boxes and the shippers for ease of packing up and moving them.

I keep them all on the off chance I want to sell something. Most of my collection is staying put but I recently decided to sell off most of my 1/5 pieces. I'm certainly glad I kept all the boxes. It made shipping out my COMs a lot easier.

Well you might want to display the boxes. Then the shipper boxes would just be eating up too much space. A room full of brown boxes doesn't really look very nice. I could make a nice wall out of the different art boxes stacked up.

You live in the P. I. 7002 islands give or take a few. You got lots of space to store your boxes, you might need them in the future.
