Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

The smiles/emojis here are the best. hahaha

LMAO you guys collect so many series - I admire that.

I don't think I own that many series... I'll count and post it later.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Great shot!

By the way, have you tried putting TNBA Bats' cape on TAS Bats?

No I haven't tried that yet I don't wanna pop BTAS's Bats head off and break it. I figure if he only came with one cape his head wouldn't be as easy to remove.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

TNI has their Batman review up!
DC Collectibles Batman: The Animated Series 6" Batman Figure Video Review & Images - DC Comics - Action Figures Toys News ToyNewsI.com

And we can clearly see that they didn't paint the eyes as big as they were sculpted:
Toy News International - Daily Action Figures Toy News, Reviews and Discussions

I think if the eyes were painted a more solid white and just that slight little bit larger, they would look good in any lighting.
I'll definitely be penciling in a mouth too. He needs some kind of definition there.
I hate to point this out, since nobody has mentioned it, but Batman has articulation holes on the sides of his knees again. I wonder why? His joint is configured differently than Robin's but it seems odd that they would switch back.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Man, I do like this Batman.

Really excited to get him in a couple of weeks.

I may try to paint his eyes too - still don't know.

I can't believe someone commented on that page that the head is too small :lol Don't they know that they molded the head to fit better with the cape.

Also the closeup on the symbol paint apps :panic: I really hope mine don't come out like that:pray:

Ain't that the truth!?!?
I saw that too, and was like "really?".

Don't they know that with these type of figures and sculpt you should consider the head + neck as the actual "head"?

Older figures from the 90s etc have the head and neck as one piece.

Geez. The Pokémons have evolved.
We shouldn't be so stuck in the past.

"Things change" - Penguin

Crap. LMAO
Hated it.

Typical from DCC. Their paint application is way to inconsistent - I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago.

Gotta get these babies in person, so we can check their paint app before buying.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Just got an update. Thought I'd get one of my bats on Monday now looks like this Sat :yess:

Super quick shipping! I like it :rock

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I watched "A Bullet for Bullock" last night - definitely one of the more mature episodes from the series, so much so that it was almost like a "bizzaro-world" version of Batman. It was extraordinarily odd to hear Batman talk about hit-men, attempted murder, crystal meth and crack-dens, in a child's cartoon! WB really were pushing the envelope with this series. It was so great to see Batman take down some random low-level drug pusher and interrogating him for information full Batman Begins style. It's the kind of thing that you know Batman gets up to on a night's errand, when he's not foiling a grandiose plot put together by one of his egocentric rogues gallery, but you never really get to see on screen. No wonder this was an Emmy award winning series!

On another note; finally got my Penguin yesterday. Fan-freaking-tastic figure! The scuplt is spot on to the cartoon, and the joints and paintwork have all been improved immensely from the fail worthy first wave figures. Can't wait for my new BATS Bats to arrive!

Great to hear it, man!

Hope you get a super perfect one!

I'm sure you gonna love him!

That is so true! This episode and others without the traditional villians are so, so great too!
"It's Never Too Late", "Appointment In Crime Alley", "Pagging The Crime Doctor" and also "I Am The Night".

Seriously, I can't even with this series. Gotta be the best ever made.

No wonder I watch at least one episode per week and do my annual maraton with all episodes in sequence.

How about " I murdered the Batman " Good stuff , watching the episodes again my god .. Ra's Al Ghul episodes were the best. Demon's Quest parts 1and 2..superb

Heart of Ice very sad

Loved P. O. V.

Beware of the Grey Ghost..c'mon Adam West ..nuff said..instant classic

Dreams of Darkness..freaky

Perchance to Dream..I felt so sad

If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich? How special was this..Why..because the Riddler got away in the end

I know this isn't Batman, but you guys remember the Superman TAS episode with Darkside and that guy died. They even showed his funeral. Wow

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

^^ DOPE episodes, of course! :lecture

Man, I swear to you that I at least like ALL episodes. Seriously, there isn't one that I don't like.

But the weakest one that I can totally skip is "Moon of the Wolf"...
Totally random and poorly drawn... But the message about vanity is what holds it up.

Speaking of "Dreams In Darkness"...
That episode is what totally inspired the Batman Begins plot about pouring the fear toxin into Gotham's water supply, directly from Arkham.

And also, the Batman Begins scene in which Scarecrow sees a "Bat Demon" and Batman scares him: straight from "Nothing To Fear".

Well IMO most of the final or season 4 started to lose my interest with exception to Worlds Finest and the one where the kids told the stories of Batman. Maybe couple of episodes here and there.

I was talking about the original episodes, in TAS style. The 84 eps.

I never watched all the TNBA (which Warner later called "season 4" for the DVDs) episodes. :rotfl

Well, personally, I'm very pleased with what DCC gave us.

He looks great to me:
