Woah, why are you getting so touchy? I mean no harm. My ego, feelings of being "wrong"? What? I'm just saying, overall this figure could/should look a hell of a lot better than it is and I illustrated how and why. All the other figures (save for maybe Catwoman and her brows) are spot on, why not the Joker?
DC Collectibles made the claim that these are based off of Bruce Timm's designs (even going as far as getting input from him personally). I can tell you right now that his designs never looked like the ones above, nor did the promotional art from DC's in house designers or the Batman Adventures comics. I don't even care about the coat tails because they interfere with the aesthetics and articulation of the figure (not to mention they might have implemented the short ones anyway). The headsculpt and v shaped Vest though, yeah, that's a little important to me. Like I said, it's not flawed perse, but they are basing it off flawed, cheap animation. I much prefer a fidelity to the originals, which to me, are the superior designs (especially if the intent is to make "Bruce Timm" styled figures as opposed to Dong Yang Akom or Spectrum Studios ones).
Not being touchy at all, your post just came off as really defensive after I pointed out that your manip would actually make the figure inacurrate to his in-show appearance, and then you started bashing the show and it's animation to defend your preference of his look! If you were originaly trying to illustrate that you'd prefer the figure to be based off earlier art designs then that would be different, but you weren't. It came across as if you'd found a design error on the figure, but there isn't one.
Anyway, no offense meant towards you - it's cool that you prefer the original early art design, but I personally am glad that they chose to go with his in-show look.
It's cool. We're just both passionate BTAS fans I guess.
Though, I'm getting a weird sense of déjà vu, like I argued over this stuff with you before.
Same, I'd love to have BTAS Batman and BTAS Robin before the year is out.
I'm betting it's Harley. I just don't think DCC wants to start wave 2 repeating figures of the same character, but I hope we get Batman.
Same. And with them specifically singling this one out for a special reveal, it would seem like it would have to be something special. I would say it is probably a hero to evenly split the wave... but I guess it is possible it is 3 villains to one hero this time (I consider Catwoman in Wave 1 sort of iffy as being a villain, especially in BTAS). But if it is a villain, it would have to be something worthy of singling out over Joker... Which leaves a very limited amount of characters.
So my guesses would be-
BTAS Batman- We all want him. Totally worthy of holding that back.
BTAS Harley- Perfect compliment to Joker, and one of the only ones worthy of a special reveal in the same wave with him.
BTAS Clayface- The sheer size would make for a cool special reveal.
Or my dark horse...
Gray Ghost- TOTALLY worthy of a special reveal. Would fill a hero slot, and would save BTAS Batman to spread out the Batman releases a bit more.
We shall see soon!

Oh man, if it's Gray Ghost I'll flip, that'd be awesome. I have a feeling they'll save some of the unique characters like Gray Ghost as con exclusives though.
Did you show your son this BTAS Robin? From what I remember from your video reviews, he really seemed to love the character. I bet he digs this figure.

Good to hear, I thought he'd love it.
Yup, Robin is my favorite shown so far too. I've always been partial to that look and the BTAS incarnation is my favorite interpretation of Robin. I don't know if it's the look, the characterization, or episodes like Robin's Reckoning, but there's just something appealing about it.
Even though the Kenner BTAS figure was inaccurate, it was always one of my favorites, especially with those vibrant colors.
