Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Ermmmm I think I like my Kenner one more, even with its slight action feature. This is the first one shown that's made me question my decision to go all in on BTAS figs but tbh I don't really know why I don't like it.

Maybe it's the first one I've seen that looks "different" as opposed to "better" than the Kenner stuff

Hmm, I think the head is better on this one, but body proportion wise, I actually prefer the Kenner one more too. I think it's more accurate to the show.

This one seems strange (color and proportion) but once we get better pictures, I think it'll look better. One thing that's bugged me a bit with these BTAS figures so far are the colors. Other than Robin, they all seem a little dull to me. Catwoman seems like she should be a little more of a darker grey, Joker should be a more vibrant hue and Man-Bat seems like he should be a richer brown. I'm not too quick to judge Man-Bat yet though considering we got a low res instagram of him.

I don't know, I think as we get more BTAS figures, the lineup will become more colorful. I'm really looking forward to BTAS Riddler and BTAS Ivy.

Yes I agree with the catwoman, thought the grey was off.

I think someone made the point earlier that with episode to episode (even frame to frame) changes in how the characters were drawn it's difficult to create a happy medium in terms of sculpt and paint and I do agree. I personally would have liked to see have seen highlights and shading in the paint jobs, mimic-ing the look of the show, but with how articulated these are it would have probably looked awful and I imagine not many would be happy to sacrifice the artic.

These are minor nitpicks though, up there with the Mms238 as my most anticipated releases this year

Yeah, it's another amazing year for action figures. It seems like I find myself saying that every year.

Did two faces design change much?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I like both just as much, but the pupil in the original design always made me cringe a little, looks weird... like a semi-nipple.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I prefer the BTAS.

About the eye thing, that always struck me too. I interpreted it as a damaged, blind eye. Jonah Hex had the same thing going on in the show.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Though, I think I definitely see ball joints in the elbows, I can see slight rectangles on the left and right elbows.

Don't listen to this guy, he's an idiot. There's no articulation.

The Kenner figure was more articulated, still great looking though.

The suit in the original design is much nicer though, yeah, blind eye seems right, but it's just uuugh :lol I guess it's supposed to cause that reaction.

Damn, it looks fantastic, look at that ugly face, I love it, I hope they add more articulation though  if not, I'll still get it just for the awesome sculpt.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Yeah, the headsculpt is perfect. Love the teeth.

Maybe it's just my eyes, but does this Man-Bat look a little mauve to anyone? I'm not really seeing brown . . .

Yep there's a definite reddish purple hue to him.

Sucks about the artic though, I'd have been happy with it being the same as the Kenner fig. The wings are the most expressive part of him and a hinge swivel at the elbow would really open up the posing options

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

The more I look at him, the more I like him, but I still think he could be more articulated. With that in mind, I'd also be open to accepting him as is, if he had switch out arms with his wings spread. I'm also curious as to how tall he'll be. I hope they stick to what they said about accurate scale.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Looking at him again is it possible that the arms have been sculpted with a bend at the elbow? The perspective doesn't give too much away but his right claw seems to be positioned in front of his right knee judging by the overlap. The slope into the forearm also seems a little angled, again though it's difficult to tell with a straight on shot

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I don't think so, I don't really see a joint. I know what you mean though.

I think his shoulders are ball jointed, which would allow for the arms to move. Surely Man-Bat will be able to be posed in a flight pose, right?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Looks much better in that photo. I curious to see what the packaging will look like now. I hope the boxes are smaller than the Capullo line. I don't like big boxes...
