Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'm hoping the clasps that come with the Superman set will be the standard from now on. I also wish they would sell a multipack of them to replace the other ones.

I prefer the old one, once you cut them they work fine and they hold most of the figures pretty well. New ones work only on the other stand (batman expression pack one), on the standard one they won't hold the figure in the center of the base, it looks pretty ugly IMHO :D

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Agreed. The new ones are terrible. They're not even centred! Thank goodness i have some spares of the old type. These are going straight in the garbage.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

No no, I just want the clip. The other ones do nothing for the larger figures. I've had to use blue tac to keep them on their bases to deter shelf diving.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Just picked up the Supes set.

The hand holes are so tight that removing the tiny fists without snapping the new cheap pegs on the hands was nearly impossible. Now that I've got them out not a single extra hand will plug into the holes. Been trying for 20 ****ing minutes to get a hand in it's hole. So now I'll have to do a bit of drilling. Also the overall quality of the plastic is the worst yet with this line. Joints are stiff as can be and the plastic feels thin and pliable. Edit: (Apparently the pegs on my fist hands were a bit smaller than the rest. Shoved different sized screwdrivers into the holes until all the hands plugged in right. Not as bad as I thought, but still a pain)

No ankle pivot on supes. Lois has one leg that's longer than the other (classsic DCC) not to mention knee joints that will NOT move at all (even after heating) without possibly snapping being that the plastic is so flexible. Plastic feels like a cheap *** Mattel fig. Lois really doesn't work well next to any of the TNBA/supes figs. She looks like she's from a completely different show. Supergirl looks like she has a chibi head in comparison.

If the 5 pack figs are anything like this, I feel bad for anyone who pays for it. Not to mention paint apps looked pretty ****** on 4 of the 6 at my LCS. This is definitely my last and final purchase from the line, unless someone verifies that the next figs are decent quality. Hands down worst set I've bought from the line in terms of quality. Not sure what's with the pliable plastic, but it's def not good. My only praise is Supes looks decent. Though Supergirl looks terrible next to him

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I don't recall having problems with Hasbro's figures standing up but they were also much lighter and had more limited articulation than what DCC's offering. These stands allow figures to be displayed in more dynamic poses instead of simply "waiting for a bus."

I distinctly remember having big problems getting Mattel's JLU figures to stay up. Those things wilted under any weather condition, even in the winter. I knew when spring was coming because my JLU would start dropping like leaves in the autumn.

The clamps are not efficient for some figures when trying to give them v dynamic poses

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Gotta say I am pretty disappointed. Lois has got be the most off-model (thanks to either the sculpt, paint or a combination of both) in a while. Totally unimpressed. Also just rewatched a couple of eps and Supes' blue is really too light. Oh - and thanks for missing the belt loop paint apps too.

Saw Batgirl too - the hair is so wrong. Who cares if she cannot turn her head properly due to having correct hair? I highly doubt this 'solution' will allow her to look natural while turning her head anyway and we get another off model looking figure as a result. Lose-lose situation. I don't know if it's the translation from 2D to 3D, the sculptors or the use of computers to 'sculpt' the figures instead of clay but they've delivered some real missteps.

Plus add the cheaped out lack of accessories and this is yet another line from an industry that has a history of starting out a series strongly only to whimper to a (sometimes premature) end.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I still say they made Batgirl too skinny or lanky or whatever you want to call it. It's not that she should be "fat" or even chubby but she definitely needs to be thicker from left to right and possibly a tad shorter. I just don't think the figure represents the Bruce Timm/BTAS style very well.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

that's exactly how to NOT review a toy xDDDD showing it from far, no close up, no nothing... xDD I hate these reviewers who don't show figures.. and they even got figures early.. D'HO! xDDD

BTW any one noticed Batgirl head is FLAT as hell when look at by side!!!??? hahaha looks like she's been hit by a truck xDDD
I really can't see effort in these figures.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I couldn't stand the line at the end..."I will definitely continue to buy each and every one of these figures as soon as they are released" excepting of course all the ones I am being sent for free.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Kenner Batgirl sculpt looks really cool, she can move a little bit her head, didn't mind if the one from DCC had better sculpt and limited movement.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I hate that I feel obligated to buy this Batgirl figure to go with Batman and Robin. I wish I could pass because she looks goofy to me.

Funny part is that TNBA Batgirl is one of the best figure in this line IMHO. Even if her head can't move so much she have way better articulation, ANKLE PIVOT included, and she stand pretty well.. I'm tired to hear excuses like "with little ankles is impossible to make them stand". My TNBA Batgirl can stand perfectly, ankle pivot works well and not get loose even if I change her poses often. Plus she got accurate sculpt and paint (beside the eyes but the thing doesn't bother me).
I wonder how TNBA Batgirl will look painted like BTAS one... Probably better than the new xDDDD Maybe I can try a Photoshop... xDD

Her head should be rounder. This should have been much easier to adjust in a purely digital environment.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I love the face, and the hair doesn't bother me. Can't wait to add her to the collection!

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Irene Matar strikes again.

Nothing personal, I'm sure she's a very nice person but her work has damaged the line so much for me. And it always seemed the animated style was easiest to sculpt and translate to 3D. I'm definitely passing on this Batgirl. It does nothing for me as much as I'd like to get it.

Both have had their hits and misses in the line, but I do feel that between Irene Matar and Gentle Giant, she's definitely been more inconsistent at translating the source material into three dimensions.
