That could be interesting...or a complete disaster. I'm leaning towards the latter, but I'll give them props for originality if so.

Between the second and third TPBs, there were two storylines: "Knightquest: The Search" and "Knightquest: The Crusade"

The Search is about Bruce running around the world in a wheel chair looking for his doctor and Robin's dad who were both kidnapped.

The Crusade is all about Jean-Paul and how he goes mad as Batman.

To my knowledge, neither of those arcs were collected as TBP's. The Search is a fairly cohesive story, if I recall correctly, while The Crusade has a couple "done in one" stories as well as mult-part stories.

So they've already established that someone who is paralyzed can be healed and overcome it. So maybe with Barbara it just is a little more extensive?

I wonder why they didn't collect those in TPB's. I was very annoyed missing out on part of the story.

DC's current Knightfall collections completely skip over all the Knightquest material and go straight to Knightsend. Maybe they'll fix that next year before the movie.

They must think readers get bored by the middle act of crossovers. I think they did the same thing with the Death of Superman collections up until they released that giant Omnibus.

I just read all the "new" information collected about the reboot going back several pages. I guess the biggest kick in the nuts for me is the removal of the JSA from this reboot. I've collected that book since the relaunch and have loved it. I don't mind following Golden Age characters. But I guess DC and DiDio, Johns, Lee and the rest think all the "new readers" will. ____ that! That's ____ing asinine. Oh, come to think of it--it's all asinine. And what new readers. There are not going to be any new readers DC. You're offering the same characters, same stories, and pretty much same continuity you've been running since 1986 sans Clark marrying Lois and a couple of other apparently "minor" changes. WTF? And Babs is Batgirl again. Yeah, this just keeps getting better and better. WTF?

Was Batman paralyzed after Bane broke his back? It's been awhile since I read Knightfall and the TPB's completely cut out Bruce getting better again. Bane broke his back, he disappeared then pops up again completely fine. It was odd.

I think Barbara getting better makes more sense than a robo suit.

Bruce's back was broken. Barbara's was shot apart and then she was brutally raped afterward. I don't think it's gonna be the same. :huh

batman rehabed fo a long while. he went to lady shiva during knights end for training

characters recover from life crippling injuries and get brought back from the dead all the time and Damien has/had an artifical spine don't see why Barbara ALONE can't be cured?:dunno

I don't see how being raped would make her less able to be healed physically. Clearly she handled it psychologically. I don't know enough medically to say whether being shot is any worse than having your back broken. Seems to be paralyzed would be paralyzed, but I'm no expert.

And then there's that, if someone can come back from the dead there's really not much that can't be done...

Seems that the only reason they kept her in the chair is because she's "inspirable" or they dont want to piss off Oracle fans.*though they have no problem pissing off fans of other characters and those that want her back as batgirl*

Not to burst your bubble but Marvel did this 2 decades ago...*heroes reborn was orginally trouted as a reboot/update of the MU...till it failed*

I meant the idea of Batgirl being a "virtual crimefighter". I never read the Heroes Reborn because it looked lame as hell in the TPB's, but I'm aware of its unfortunate existance. I think this reboot idea itself is going to have the same fate. We should have a pool for how long it takes to makes this an alternate universe.

Meaning it would've furthered the damage to the spine done by the bullet.

Pre ordered my copies of Action comics Superman #1, Wonder Woman #1 and Supergiirl #1 from my local comic shop :D

Particularly since the cord was no longer protected by the shattered vertebrae.

This whole thing sounds like their universe defining events of the past five years never brought them to the place they wanted, so they just said screw it---we're going to do whatever we feel like doing.

Half the descriptions for the first issues sound like Writing 101 homework assignments. All of it screams creative bankruptcy. The history of the characters has proven too much for them and they've jumped ship. It would have been nice if they could have refrained from dragging the DCU down with them.

Pretty sure that's been done too...I got some of the #1s when I was 12 back during my "buy #1s cause they're gonna be collectables" phase...I give it a year:impatient::panic:

Chromium covers! :rotfl

This past weekend, I was helping my son bag, board, and organize his comics. He was going through my boxes to see how I do it and also to check out some of my collection. Then the inevitable question came: "Why do you have so many doubles?"

My answer: "Because there were all these variants and foil covers and polybags and stuff. I'd have to buy 2 if I wanted to read it because reading a book would essentially destroy it's value."

He then picks up an autographed foil cover Deathmate and asks "How much is this worth?"

My response: "About 3 bucks."

*uncomfortable silence*

Me: "IT WAS THE 90s!!!"
